I'm looking for family friendly, casual restaurants near Pop Century for some quick dinners. We'll have a car and GPS so it will be easy to locate chain restaurants. I was wondering if there were any non-chain restaurants anyone could recommend.

Pop is on Disney property - so getting offsite will take time.

that say I like the chains.

Golden Coral is not far and it has pretty good food.

If you leave Disney property, by way of the DTD area, there are a few places over there, I'm not sure what's there now. It's one of the easier ways to to leave Disney, and find you way back. This area imo is not as heavy with traffic . I think it's the last right after DTD.

I agree with the previous poster, if you leave on the road in front of DTD, it will dead-end to a road with a bunch of places to eat. We ate at Giordano's pizza for the first time, it was really good, but be prepared to wait if you order a deep dish pizza, I think it took at least 45 minutes. We also ate at the Orlando Ale House, it is sort of a chain, I think they only have these in Florida, but we have one locally, and it is really resonably priced, and not to mention really close. But, there are also plenty of chain restaurants on this road too.

The best places for restaurants would be 535 (sort of near DTD), and 192 which would be closer to your hotel I guess. On 535 there's TGI Fridays, Chevy's (yummmm), Bennigan's, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, and a lot more. On 192, there's Ruby Tuesday, another Bennigan's and lots more.

As others have said the Lake Buena Vista area which is right outside Downtown Disney has a lot of places mainly on or right off 535.Also try venturing to International Drive, basically every restaurant is there, some real nice ones are right by the convention center.Pointe Orlando next to the conv.center has added new restaurants lately. On the other side of I-4 from I-Drive on Sand Lake rd. there are some nice restaurants as well.192 has many restaurants as well but don't venture east of 535 where the neighborhood begins to get worse.

I was about to start a thread about the same subject. Great ideas:thumbsup2 Are there any restaurants that aren't chains that someone would like to recommend?
