If you look at the reviews in the sub-board found at the top of this page, there are some reviews of homes that different people have stayed in. That might be a good place to start. I read through them when I was doing my search but most of those places are larger and a little more expensive than I could afford, but they did look beautiful and certainly within most people's price range. I personally stayed in Windsor Palms on our last trip. I don't know the exact house because the details were not taken care of by me. I loved being in that area because of the Sherbeth Road shortcut. The house had its own pool but we didn't pay to have it heated. The community pool was lovely. You can do a generally enquiry on the Windsor Palms website and owners will contact you directly with quotes. I was surprised that I didn't get a lot of response when I did this though. I know this is so overwhelming. I searched for months before I finally settled on a townhouse in Regal Palms for our next trip. It is further out but has a great pool complex. Good luck.

Go to VRBO.com and click on centrail florida. Look at Windsor Palms, Emerald Isle, or Windsor Hills. All are within minutes of WDW and beautiful. You can find 6 bedroom homes or 2 bed 2 bath condos. Lots of shopping close by (including Super Walmart) There are plenty of other great options but to get you a feel of the area, you can limit yourself to these and be assured of success. I actually own two condos in other resorts that I rent on VRBO and they are great units, but if they are filled and I need a Disney trip I start at Windsor Palms. Good luck,

I was interested in something at Windsor Hills (I think it helps if you narrow it down to a resort first) for May 2007 and got over 40 replies in less than a week. So overwhelming. I ended up making a list of things that were important to me, found the places that met my criteria, then ranked them by price. I also investigated deposit/payment/cancellation policies. Email the owners if you have questions; they are glad to answer.

I did a "general enquiry" on the Windsor Hills site yesterday and had close to 50 e-mails within hours! Looks like the owners are desperate to rent--and lots had really great rates.
