Off Property Restaurants

Since this is the de facto "food" thread, I'd like to ask if there is a good place to get crab that isn't Joe's Crab Shack. We tried that last time in the area and my wife and MiL both said it was mediocre (I don't eat crab or lobster). Was hoping there was something similar to Rustic Inn in Fort Lauderdale up in the area.

LA. Boiling Seafood Crab & Crawfish, the Crab Stop, Karen's Tasty Crab and Big Fin Seafood. Also Fulton's onsite at DTD.

DrivenByDisney - have you tried Wildside BBQ on Rt. 192? How does that line up with Bubbalou's Bodacious Barbecue? I have tried a couple of BBQ places around Disney, I like Wildside the best, but have never heard of Bubbalou's.
Gina-Gina-Bo-Bina - Are you talking about the Margaritaville at CityWalk in Universal? Or is there another one near Disney?
Here is a couple to stay away from: Colorado Beef House on 192, Paradiso 37 in Downtown Disney, and Golden Corral located anywhere.
I liked going to Celebration (the town Disney built) and eating at the Market Street Cafe. It is a 50's style diner in the heart of Celebration, eating with the locals, it was great.
When I'm on vacation, I don't want to eat all the same chains that I have back home. I want new experiences. So, I would encourage you to experiment a little. Have fun!

Yes....Margaritaville at Citywalk :thumbsup2 .

I did Giordano's pizza. It is a deep dish Chicago style pizza. And by deep dish? I mean stuffed deep dish pie. A slice of this is a meal. It might have been two inches thick. While my wife and I loved it? The kids hated it. It was fairly expensive, as pizza goes, so I was disappointed. But my kids can tend to be a little picky. While we were there, they had balloon artists who will make anything (in exchange for a tip - remember to tip them well). If the kids weren't with us? I would go back.

To give the others a visual....

1. Yep, definitely a Chicago style pizza
2. I'm pretty sure that pie weighs 20 lbs and feeds 30.

We love Senor Frogs on International Drive. Both trips we came in the day before we check in at Disney, so we stay off-property for the night. By fluke we went to Senor Frogs the first trip, so the second trip down the kids insisted on going there again. And DH and loved it because 2 for 1 happy hour happened for us both times!

We go a bit earlier so we beat the party crowd (we get the impression it is quite the party joint) but it is a fun place. The signs all over are fun to read, and the food was awesome.

Is it live music and dancing that serves food too?

Columbia in celebration, it is soooooo wonderful! Also, town tavern and D'antonios in celebration are great!
Columbia (http://www.columbiarestaurant.com/celebration.asp) is one of our all time favorite restaurants, and a must-do whenever we are in Orlando, or St. Augustine, or Sarasota, or Tampa, or... REALLY great food, moderately priced, but with a lovely ambiance and great service.

And here's a link to an old thread with a LOT of good suggestions: http://www.disboards.com/threads/best-off-site-restaurants-thread.498998/

I'm not sure - we've never stayed too late. I want to say DJ and dancing (along the "club" lines - more of a younger party crowd) - but I'm not 100% sure!
