We are doing a short August trip, arriving at 1:30 am on a Friday and leaving at 7 am flight on the following Wednesday meaning a 4 am pickup. Just 2 adults, 1 large suitcase and a transport wheelchair that folds up. We usually take much longer trips and rent a car. I convinced hubby to do this one off trip by making it more of a budget trip. We are DVC staying at Saratoga.
Trying to decide best way to get to/from MCO. We don’t mind making a few stops on the way to SSR but do want to make sure we have timely return to MCO at end of trip so don’t want too many stops.
We know these are off hours. Right now thinking Uber/Lyft both ways, or Mears to SSR and Uber/Lyft back. Reliability is important especially on the return to MCO.
Thoughts? Any options we are not thinking of? Again cost an issue, just on principal if nothing else. Plus we have a two week stay coming up two months after this one as a retirement gift for husband.
Thanks!

For our trip last January, we booked a private car service (Tony Hinds) instead of Mears Connect because we had an early flight home and didn’t want to worry about the bus being late or delayed by other guests. Our driver was right on time (a little early, actually), and we were very pleased. Since you’re arriving at 1:30 AM as well as leaving very early, I’d consider that as a possibility. It was less expensive than a rental car, too!

Thank you! We were looking to save some $$ and not do a car service but mags go that route for peace of mind.

Mears Connect operates 24/7 so you can book for a pickup at any time, even early morning hours.. This is the most cost effective option.

For off hours travel, I would feel safer using one of the services where you book a reservation ahead of time. This way they can plan for the pickup and you know what to expect.

We used Tiffany Towncar twice recently (a trip in March and one in April). I was happy with their service.

Most of the time you can pre-schedule a rideshare pickup. Lyft, and I think Uber as well, allow you to schedule several days in advance… I think it’s a week out, but it’s been a couple years since I had to schedule anything…. The option to do so is still there in the app.
