Hi Everyone,

This is going to be our 3rd year staying on Site at the Wilderness Lodge in November for 8 days and I'm entertaining the idea of doing something different away from Disney during one of the days. Don't get me wrong we all love Disney however it would be nice to see what else Florida has to offer since we only visit once a year.

DS is five and DD will be three during our trip. What have been your best experiences off-site for those of you who have taken a day away from the world?

Welcoming all ideas at this point in time. We will most likely require a rental vehicle with car seats for transportation.

Many takes in advance,

Lance.

We have been to universal and they have alot of things for the kids to do. they have a HUGE water area with a ball thing. you suck the balls up into a hose and shoot them. i think it was Curious George. they also so have an are of dr seuss which has alot of hands on thigs to plsy with. My daughter played tic, tac toe with an animal themed from dr.seuss and she won. they talk it was alot of fun. sea world is fun too if you love animals. there is alot to do on the main strip too if you dont want to go to another park or go to down town disney. just some ideas. you can message me if you need help

I'm wanting recommendations for 'days off' too.
Rather than the alternate parks, we are looking at getting totally out of the theme park mentality for the day. Driving to a beach or visiting one of the state parks (the florida state parks have a web site with locations but it gets mind boggling - loads of information but no visitor reports!). I have no idea which beach or park to head to so I'm hoping someone on here has ventured further afield!
After the crowds I like empty spaces.... any ideas?

J

airboat rides there great you get to see alot of wildlife and the real florida the swamps and stuff but if you do that you have to go on the earliest possible tour because in the heat of the day you wont see much
