I hate to bring it up but I just HAVE to ask! To put it nicely, my tummy very frequently gets UPSET after eating at all my favorite Disney restaurants. I'm assuming it's because they use M.S.G. or something. ANYWAY... does anyone know if there's anything I can do or take to prevent or counteract this problem? Anything over the counter? I hate having to worry about how my stomach will 'behave' after eating and I don't want to have to go back to the room each time we eat. :( Thanks for your help!

As I am progressively getting older, my stomach is certainly getting a bit more upset these days. There is no telling when it will happen either. I have found that if I know that I am about to eat something that may upset my stomach (ie. fried seafood) I take a pepcid AC or Complete about 25 minutes before eating and sometimes I take a second one an hour after eating as well. I find that this has worked well for me. When I haven't taken one before eating but get an upset stomach, I will take one after and go back to my room to rest for an hour or so then I usually feel pretty good.

Just a side note, if your taking other meds, definately check with your doctor about Pepcid. The bottle says that you can take up to 2 per day but when doctors give a prescrip. for Pepcid it is double the amount that you can take over the counter. You may require a bit more Pepcid knowing that your stomach does get upset while at Disney. Also, he may just prescribe something else for you entirely.

Are you getting on rides immediately after eating? Sorry the meals aren't agreeing with you. That would ruin a big part of my trip.:(

Are things getting a little runny? First of all, I would consult your doctor. When I was pregnant and traveling (Disney Cruise) the doctor loaded me up with lots of good prescriptions so that things would run as they should. Didn't help, threw up anyway. Butt, there may be something they could send with you to offset your troubles. I would recommend 1/2 of an Immodium AD before you eat. They work pretty quick.

Also, don't drink the water. We never drink anything but bottled and we buy spring water by the gallon to keep in our room.

Best of luck!

I never travel without my Imodium amd Pepto. Better safe than sorry. I tend to over indulge at WDW and sometimes get an upset stomach. Both of these things can be easily carried in my backback.

I find that Maalox Max - the chewables, not the liquid - always makes my stomach feel better... I was seriously ill a year ago and ever since I get bad heartburn and upset stomach when I eat certain things or just eat too much. The chewables would be very easy to carry, no worries about stuff leaking all over the inside of your bag. They taste alright, too.

I also recommend drinking a lot of water and keeping a bottle with you, as I can frequently calm my stomach down just by drinking a glass of water. Water also makes you feel less hungry so you'll be less prone to overindulging when you eat. Pepto Bismol just doesn't agree with me; more often than not, instead of making me feel better it makes me throw up. :( I don't use it too often anymore...

I know what you mean. Dfinatly bring some pepto with you. That helps. Also, steer clear of anything acidic such as Orange Juice and also soft drinks. I know I usually have stomach problems at WDW, but on my last trip, I steered clear of those drinks and just had water. I felt much better than I usually do.

I usually find carrying Tums or Rolaids does the trick just fine, as does NOT having "fries" with every meal. At home, I don't eat quite so much fried food, but on vacation that is usually the bulk of what I eat. Sometimes just backing off and getting fruit or a frozen yogurt instead of a meal helps me immensely!

I feel your pain. I have rarely had trouble with WDW meals (unless I consume too much fat at one meal), but I have a real problem with the meat tenderizers that more and more restaurants seem to be using. Let's just say my tummy gets "tenderized" too!

I always carry the pepto/immodium in case someone has an upset tummy after a meal...but I find that if we slow down and don't rush right after meals, we feel better overall.

Also, don't drink the water. We never drink anything but bottled and we buy spring water by the gallon to keep in our room.

This is so important, and people forget but it applies to brushing teeth, too. I even brush my teeth with bottled water. If you're really sensitive to the water, remember that most sodas from fountains are made with the local water, too. Buy your pop in bottles/cans.

I personally have found that I just simply cannot eat salad or raw fresh vegtables in WDW. I don't know why, but for some reason if I do, I am up all night and hating myself. I can eat fruit, but not the veggies, especially lettuce.

This is a mega bummer because I'm a salad freak, but once I figured out what was doing it to me, I have been able to ward off most stomachaches. I wonder if it was something they were washing the veggies in or something used in the growing process, never figured that out, just know that salad is a definite don't for me in WDW.

Hope you can figure it out as to what is effecting you, take some meds with you, and feel better on your next trip!
