Sorry I haven't had time to finish my trip report - and I promise I will sometime soon - but I've been busy, busy, busy!!
The car is registered and inspected - the new tires and new brakes are on -and the car has been thoroughly checked out by a mechanic - so it looks like I'm good to go..
Last weekend we took a quick trip up to the lake - late Saturday till Sunday evening - and I gave my son-in-law the ok to rip out the closet and wall between the two bedrooms.. Course that meant I had to haul everything out into the kitchen/dining area, but he got the job done.. My "two-bedroom" cabin is now officially a "one bedroom"..
How's that for "downsizing"?? 
It just made more sense and in the long run will give me more useable space than what I had before.. My DD was a little upset - she wanted it to stay the same as it has always been - but when I pointed out to her that pretty much nothing in my life is the "same" anymore she agreed that "change" might be the best way to go.. Although we won't do anymore in that room until next fall at the earliest (providing my house is sold by then) it will be great to have that really big bedroom and be able to use my own bed from the old house..
So...basically I've been packing all week long and now that I have the ok on the car, I'll be heading up to the lake as soon as my DD gets home from work.. I've already got the car loaded to the gills and will probably have to make at least one more trip sometime next week to get the rest of my stuff..
I've got lots of work to do there - cleaning, rearranging things, etc. - so it's just as well that I can't get it all up there in one trip..
I'm not sure when I'll be getting my internet service up there - may take a few days or could take a couple of weeks - but when I get it, I'll be back on the DIS to keep you up to date on all of the lake happenings - - and to finish that trip report, of course..
