Hi!

When I started to go to Disney World I did not know what PS was. Thus we waited to get into the restaurants.

Now we know what the PS are and make many for each trip.

Our average is 2 a day. One for breakfast or lunch and one for dinner.

I'm curious to know how many ps others make for their trips.

:D Renee

pretty much the same as you...breakfast or lunch depending on plans for the day and then a nice dinner somewhere.

for a 14 day trip I plan to make 4 P.S.s. The rest will be winged or booked on the morning of the day were in that park.

We have 4 for a 10 day stay (one of which is DD's Grand Adv in Cooking). We haven't had a lot of problems getting in anywhere in the past and hopes that holds true for this year.

We made 9 PS for an 8 day stay. Lots of Character Meals for the Kids and Le Cellier for mom and dad. AND we will use them all!

One of my favorite things to do at Disney is eat!!

So far we have 3 PS's for our 7 day stay. I'll make another when we go to Epcot because I'm not sure where I want to eat. That one will be the "monring of" decision. We, also, plan on hitting a dinner theater and will make those reservations once we get to Florida. The other meals will be "what are you hungry for?" "I don't know, what are you hungry for?":p Unless we have PS's, that's usually our daily routine.

For our 10 day trip in January 04 I plan on making 10 PS. This number will probably change. The ones that we know that we will be needing are Cinderella's Breakfast, V&A's, Princess Breakfast in Norway, Chef Mickeys, California Grill, Citrico's, and Jiko.

We have one a day. Either lunch or dinner. We are not big breakfast eaters and could never justify a character breakfast. We do, however, zip over to Dixie Landing/Boatwrights or the Concourse Steakhouse/CR for breakfast, but since we are early risers, never need a PS for breakfast. We would NEVER go to WDW without a PS daily. By the second day, french fries get real old. When we dine for dinner at resorts, we usually just call the resort and see what times are open.

Last year we were there for 6 days and only had a PS for one dinner and a carriage ride, but that was in September.

This year, we will be there for a week during December. I have a PS that we will make for the day before we actually arrive where we will treat my mother outlaw to Afternoon Tea at the GF. I need to make 2 dinner and 2 breakfast PS's, MVMCP with PS for LTT is done and so is Mickey's Backyard BBQ, 2 Candlelight Processional PS's also need to be arranged. This doesn't include the 2 times that we plan on eating at RFC because we have the Safari Club, we won't need to worry about making PS's for those dinners. I also still have to buy tickets for the opening night of Lord of the Rings: Return of the King at the AMC there at DTD.

I would have never thought that I would have planned so much for a vacation before, but there is so much to see and do that we want to be laid back, but still manage to sample most of what the holiday events are like at WDW. I doubt that I will ever plan things out so much for another Disney vacation, but it has been a lot of fun. ;) Mickey

just a newbie wondering what a "PS" is

A PS is a Priority Seating arrangement, it's sort of like a reservation, but you need to arrive 15 minutes before the PS time and be prepared to wait for at least 30 minutes after that time before you are actually seated. It's not a reservation, but it's kind of like a fast pass in that you have a spot held in line for you. Mickey

You don't need to arrive 15 minutes early...the last PS I made they said 5 minutes early. But, it doesn't hurt to arrive earlier.

Ok, 5 minutes it is. I am compulsively early. I have found that it works to my advantage though. ;) Mickey

OMG! I didn't know anyone else used this! I thought i came up with this little witty phrase!:)

I am really glad this thread came up because I have been wondering the same thing. We will be there 6 nights. The only place we are both 100% in agreement on is Boma. I am feeling anxious though- I think during the time we're going (December 13-19) there will be a lot of competition for the best places. Am I right? Should we sit down and figure it out soon?

We arrive on the 14th and from what I can tell, the week should start off quietly, but by Friday and Saturday, it should be much more crowded. I make most of the decisions about what happens at Disney, my honey could care less about all the planning. I ask a question here and there, but I usually get told, "You plan for whatever, I trust you." I travel with a picky eater, so I know what places are safe and what to avoid.

We will eat quite a bit of counter service, but we will be trying many new places this time too. I just want things to run smoothly. I hate wasting time waiting for a meal. I think I have a good enough grasp on our usual touring style to guestimate a good time for dinner. Mickey

PS I'm glad you like the "mother outlaw" term. ;)

We have a 12 day stay in the works for next yr... it's a sad testimony to my obsessive planning that I already have all our PS planned and in a spread sheet, ready to dial (months from now!) and even have our HDDR all reserved (we're first on the ressie list for that night!). We have about 12 PS, usually dinners, but some b'fast or lunch. We stay in DVC villas so we eat our bfast alot of times in our room, and usually pack a snack for mid-day. I also have about 3 places listed in our plans that don't take the PS (like ESPN, B&C, RFC at DTD).

Planning the meals (even 11 mos away!) is one of my favorite pasttimes... DH sez I'm nuttier than a fruitcake.

We were there from 8/10-8/17 and I made a PS for almost every day. With three ds (2 of whom are teenagers) our food budget is $150 a day. This is with a refillable Polynesian mug, lots of gatorade mix from the room brought into the parks and no breakfast (granola bars etc. ) Our meal was mostly a buffet so I knew they got a least a good meal each day except for little pickey ds 11. He could live off hot dogs and chicken nuggets. We had chef mickey (totally filled by 5:30), Fantasmic dinner pkg at hollywood and vine, (the hostesss at the door stated there will be no walk ups accepted tonight, we are totally booked, Thanks heavens for the PS, Whispering Canyon Cafe (never again), Crystal Palace for lunch (again the hostess stated to all those walk ups no walk ups accepted today for lunch or dinner, we are completely booked) (I was so glad for our ps again) and then just dh and me at Akershus (norway) for lunch. You could have walked in there. Then Trails End at Ft. Wilderness (You cannot make a PS here) and Rainforest at the animal kingdom (BEWARE: They will try to sell you their card and say you can even get in faster etc. etc. Well DONT buy it) My ds had a nice talk with our server. He EVEN told us they are trained in how to sell/market these cards. Just make a PS and wait. Then during the bad storm DH and I walked up to the Cape May Buffet at 5:15. They said not until 8:30 but check back around 5:45 so we did and we got in at 6:30. Sent the DS's to beaches and cream and they told us they had a 45 minute wait. So it depends on the crowds etc. But I like to plan etc. So I find this just works better for our family. You will have to see what works for yours. In the summer we really enjoy a nice early air conditioned big meal.

I make a PS for every dinner. We sorta' just wing breakfast and lunch, as we generally don't do anything extravagant for those. Everyone eats on their own schedule, then we do a nice dinner together.
