I used to have an awesome stylist. We then had to move from Texas to Florida. That was in Oct. '07 and I have yet to get a GOOD haircut! I still haven't had my hair colored either because I don't trust anyone yet. It's hard to find someone good!

calling for a hair appointment and finding out your stylist has left shouldn't be one of them. But why do I find myself, literally balling? I loved the way my stylist cut my hair and the color she did. I found out she hadn't even written down the color formulas from the last several times I was there.

They probably lied. I know a girl who was told to go ahead and come in when her stylist left. She did and they absolutely SCREWED her hair up--saying the stylist wrote it all down and they were doing it the same.

That stinks. I can't imagine what I will do when my stylist retires. She has been the only person to touch my hair. She gave me my first haircut and then I just went yesterday for my haircut and I am almost 30.

Mine too--a little over 30 years!!!

A couple of things I've learned:
*I am not the only one who loves the way her stylist does her hair and gets upset over stylist situations changing

*SC Minnie is moving to Atlanta when her stylist gets married and moves there

*luvmarypoppins has travelled the absolute FURTHEST out of anyone I know to get her hair done by her stylist! *Can't* keep that one quiet! Where is the tag fairy, anyway??(I actually know someone who used to drive from Louisana to Michigan for dentist appointments!)

So GUESS WHAT????!!!! Thanks to all y'all's suggestions, I FOUND MY STYLIST!!!
I hunted her down today on the internet and found she left for a type of salon where the stylists rent their own space, so they basically work for themselves and must pay some type of rent. I made an appointment and now I'm so happy!

And your stylist is thrilled you found her, I bet!! Often, a salon can have stylist sign something saying they won't take their clientele with them so they can't contact you.

I've been doing hair for 27 years and have worked in 2 salons in 4 different locations. (Each salon made a move) I have always marveled at stylists who move around a lot and wondered why.

Girl, I feel you!! I would CRY if my colorist/ stylist left or stopped doing hair. I get my hair done at her house (known her since I was 8) and she's amazing. I just found out she won't be around for about 6 months because she has to take her baby to get chemo. I felt awful for the poor baby and her. So so sad.

I will also admit that I was a little sad I wouldn't be able to get my hair done by her for 6 months.. selfish, I know, I know.

Like AKL_Megs....my guys fell off the face of the Earth and the salon was not about to give me his info.

minniebeth: OK, I really do my best not to correct spelling etc...on message boards. Sometimes, due to word meaning, I just have to say something. So, I hope you take this with the light-hearted and well-meaning spirit in which it is meant: "balling" and "bawling" (crying) are two VERY different things.

I had a really bad week and my hair stylist mini-crisis was one of the straws that broke the proverbial camel's back. Using bawling incorrectly is the least of my concerns.
