We booked a Grand Gathering and one of our options was to purchase the Odyssey Illuminations International Dinner and Dessert Buffet. Does anyone have any information on this??? We've never done it and thought it sounded neat. Can someone shed some light? We were also able to get ADR's for Le Cellier for the end of August and free dining for a party of 15. WooHoo!!! :cool1:

I wish I could help. We really wanted to do this in October but they won't be offering it. :sad1:

We were suppose to do it in July but our TA e-mailed us saying they cancelled it. :confused3

When in July are you going? We have the Interntational Dinner/Illuminations Dessert Buffet scheduled for our trip on July 16th. I booked it about a month ago.

I am hoping to get an idea of how the scheduling of this runs. The CM told me it started at 6pm at the Odyessy but does that mean we take part in this dinner for three hours until Illuminations? Do they have us do the dinner buffet and then meet up later at the dessert buffet area for Illuminations? Does anyone have info?

Thanking you in advance!!!

Our family did this over Easter break. We checked in at a podium at the Odessy at 7:15. Our reservations were for 7:30. You wait for a cast member to call your name and take you inside. You are seated at round tables with your group. You get a special pin to wear so when you go to view Illuminations they can identify you. There is a "character", Auntie Roz who asks if anyone has a birthday, anniv. or other special occasion. She and a DJ do a little show and get the kids invloved with storytelling and dancing. While this is going on, you can go to the buffet. We had fajitas, bratwurst, lazagne, sweet and sour chicken, rice, potatoes, salads, roast pork, a chicken dish... international dishes from about 5 countries. Can't remember it all! Don't know if it varies or not. Kids buffet had chicken fingers, mini hotdogs, mac and cheese and pb&j. Included drinks were sodas, tea. They offered beer and wine. These cost extra. Also, Minnie and Goofy come and meet everyone and you can have a group photo made with them. After dinner you are lead out to the viewing area in front of the gift shop that is at the beginning of world showcase. It is front and center for viewing the fireworks. This is where desserts are usually served. It was so cold the night we did it, we were served inside the Odessy. There was a fruit cup, strawberry cake, a chocolate mousse, a lemon cake..more but I don't remember them all! Also coffee and hot tea. We enjoyed this event. It was nice to escape the crowds and not have to stake out a spot for Illuminations!
Auntie Roz is kinda corny but it's geared toward families. Our kids enjoyed it and they are teens. They didn't mind watching the "little kids" have fun.
Hope this helps!

It was going to be on July 2nd at I think 7:30pm.

Thanks MagicFam5! Awesome information. I will have to double check our time. 6pm seems awfully early and 7:15 seems just about right!

We just did this last week- I included it in my trip report. It was a great time- the kids loved it, my parents loved it. I have to say it was nice to have some laughter and a laid back dinner. My kids were beside themselves with Minnie and Goofy coming in and dancing with them. The dessert buffet by the lakeside topped it off. Great dessert- nicely set up and you get a special Magical Gatherings Illuminations pin for each family member. I highly recommend it and hope you have a great time!
