I have seen this empty building in between WS and FW next to the Mexico Pavillion and have always wondered what it is used for? I have seen some people say it is currently used for "special events". What is the definition of a "special event"? Was this building used it the past for something other than "special events" ?

It used to house a restaurant, but that's been gone for several years. It was also used to host events for the Food & Wine Festival, but with the conversion of the Wonders of Life pavilion into the Festival Center, that is no longer the case. Now the Odyssey building is used mainly to host dessert parties for Grand Gatherings and other special functions. :)

Ah, I remember eating a hot dog there in 1992. I hate that it's closed to the public, if only for the nostalgia.

I seem to remember they do Grand Gathering dinner packages in there -- can anyboy confirm? edit: apparently the person right before has already done so.

There was also a "stage" show at the Odyssey at some point too. Mickey, Goofy and the gang. We have pictures of it so I'll try and scan them in later.

I have a couple of pictures - one of a peek inside around the corner, on my "What Is That Place? - Epcot" page.

By the way, the restroom on the left side is one of the nicest looking at WDW I think.
