Odds of walking into Le Cellier solo for Lunch?

I'm debating trying to walk in to Le Cellier on Jan 13 for lunch since I can't get an ADR for one. I'm kind of doubting my luck since Epcot is the park to avoid according TP and easyWDW. I'd prefer to eat at off times anyway, so that's in my favor, maybe.

I'm not a huge steak person, generally, so I would likely enjoy the meat even if it isn't exceptional. I'm really in it for the cheese soup.

Right now, I've got an ADR at Tokyo Dining which I'll enjoy, but I've heard so much about how spifftastic Le Cellier is...

Do DISers think I've got a chance or is it worth it?

once we walk into the rest as soon as it open and they sat us. it is just luck because other times no way. go early and you just might be lucky.

I'd say there's a good chance if you get there right when it opens. We had an ADR at Chefs on the 4th of July and they were taking walk-ups. Doesn't hurt to try!

It definitely won't hurt to try.
This past May my family and I dined at Le Cellier 2 times, both reservations were made the morning of. I also checked 2 other days (I really like Le Cellier ) and both also had openings when the day before there were none.

Look online the day before or early that day....before the park opens... I have found there is often an opening available.

I would go ahead and try whenever you're near the Canada Pavillion. Mid January is not a very busy time of the year so I think you have a pretty good chance.

When we were in DW we had pretty good luck going online and getting reservations the day before. (Yay for free internet at the resortl) I think last minute ADRs opened up as people cancelled/changed their plans.

We had a reservation for Le Cellier at opening. We got there a little early so we had to wait for the restaurant to open. During that time several people approached the podium and asked if they were taking walkups. On that particular day the CM told everyone they were fully booked for opeining, but they could check back in about half an hour. They were told that Le Cellier didn't do a wait list so they would be seated only if there was a table available when they came back.

It never hurts to try, especially in January. We walked in with a party of 6 for lunch last January.

Walking around Epcot that morning it was more quiet than we've ever seen it. My sister had never been to LeCellier, and wanted to give it a try. I texted my husband and kids to walk over to Canada, we went to the podium, and were seated in about 15 minutes.

If you are in it for the soup and you can't get an ADR, try getting the soup and pretzel bread to go. I did this last February. The first time I went in right at opening, they told me to come back around 1:00. I went back at 1:00, and I was able to get soup and bread to go. I then sat out on a bench overlooking the water to enjoy my lunch.
