Odds of being upgraded

Upgraded to main building CL TPV at the GF from a standard view CL on our Disneymoon. Also upgraded from standard room to suite at ASMu (whichever has suites).

I only counted the trips DH and I took from our honeymoon forward. All other trips my mom paid for and I don't have a clue?

Both times we got upgraded was at AKL. The first on our honeymoon was from a standard view room to a pool view room.

For the trip we made in 2009, we were upgraded from standard view to a Savanna view - that was an awesome surprise when I walked into the room.

Both trips were long, one was 9 nights and the other 10 nights, but it was in the off season (September and October), so I am sure the hotel was not close to being at capacity.

Best guess: 28 stays/ 1 upgrade

We started out at the moderate resorts (maybe 8 trips or so) & always got the room category we paid for. Some of those 28 stays were Mod/ deluxe splits. We then moved up to all deluxe trips. Last 10- 12 trips have been YC lagoon view club level, so there really isn't a lot of opportunity for upgrading from there!

The 1 time we were upgraded: we had a week vacation booked for Dec @ YC lagoon view club level. We decided to go for a few days in May (4 nights for my birthday). We booked a regular lagoon view room with a AAA discount. We were upgraded to lagoon view club level! Really surprised, but I figured they saw we were booked for club level later in the year so we got a little pixie dust!

Like I said, we book a premium room, so there's not a big chance of getting upgraded.

I'm also really curious about which resorts seem to do more upgrades? Are ther some resorts that do it more often than others?

All 3 of mine were Value and no upgrades--POP, ASMo, ASSp

Basic room at POFQ to a River View room
Standard room at Pop to a Preferred Pool room
Standard room at Pop to a Suite (solo trip so that one was awesome!)

Standard room at PORFQ to river view. I wish we had kept the standard room because we were one of the furthest rooms possible from the bus stop.

28 trips..NO upgrades ever.We stay at anything from Values -Deluxe and DVC on cash ressies..Never an upgrade,Heck half the time we never get our requests either.
