Got an invitation to my cousin's wedding today. Now, keep in mind, DH and I have been married for 17 years. This is how it was addressed:
Miss Kristy A.......
Mr. Skeets (DH nickname) A.....
Address

Isn't that wierd??? Ihaven't been a Miss in ages! :rotfl: And would DH's formal name been more appropriate? :rolleyes1

Very wierd!

Could they have an issue with you or dh (or your marriage) you might not know about?:confused3;)

They were probably afraid that you might be offended if they addressed it "Mr and Mrs Skeets A......". Apparently some people get offended by that.

Side note, where did your husband pick up a nickname like Skeets. And does he really go by that?

Apparently when he was a child, a friend of the family called him "mosquito" (now where that came from, I don't have a clue) His little brother couldn't pronounce mosquito, so it came out Skeets. He went by that up until about 6 years ago, but he absolutely hated it. He finally asked people to start calling him Brad. I still have a hard time calling him Brad, though. LOL ;)

Maybe someone just took it out of her address book that is in severe need of updating?

Weird, I've addressed Christmas Cards weirdly but Wedding Invites are usually a bit more formal.

Sounds to me like it was addressed by someone who hasn't spent time with either of you since before your marriage, and using a REALLY old address list; probably something they got from an elderly relative and didn't realize was quite that old.

Why the eye roll?:sad2: Some of us did not change our names when we got married so Mr and Mrs is not a correct title to call us by.

Was it addressed Miss Kitty maiden name or Miss Kitty married name. If they used your married name (assuming you took your dh name) I agree that is strange. If they used your maiden, I agree maybe its a really old list.

Deanna :bored: :cat:

sounds like something I would do, but I'm just goofy like that:rotfl:

Married name.

Oh that's weird. Etiquette for wedding invites is formal name outside (Mr. & Mrs so and so) and the inner envelope is their first names or whatever personal names you have...right? Anyone? That's what I did because that is what my friend and my cousin did for their wedding.

Is it by chance an informal/casual wedding? Maybe they were trying to set a relaxed, fun tone starting with the invites - rather than making it appear like a more formal affair?

Just a thought...:goodvibes

Cousin Robin? Is that you???

Yes, it does tend to put knickers in a twist - I say how nice you got an invitation.

Hubby and I once got a Christmas card shortly after we were married. The guy couldn't remember my name, but he saved it nicely by addressing it, "and your lovely wife."

:thumbsup2
