I was in Disneyland last week with my daughter and everytime we were near the monorail station in DTD we noticed an odd smell. We first noticed it on the tram as we were driving near the monorail and thought it was a baby's dirty diaper (seriously). But than we noticed it everytime we walked past the station in DTD and when we were there waiting to board. Does anyone know what this is?

It is sewage. There must be an intersection or hub underneath the ground there but I always smell it when I pass by there.

You would think they would figure that one out and resolve it.

could be fertilizer for the plants... :|

I don't know, that is a different smell and the stink it is always there, year-around so my theory is that is it s sewage intersection or something and the shear volume that passes underneath makes the odor apparent. Maybe some type of holding tank or septic reservoir lies under there and it just can't be avoided. I say send the imagineers over and they'll figure it out!

Dunno, they currently dugged up Simba lot and it seems like they are putting some kind of piping into Simba Lot. Could have something to do with that.

No big but I must say it makes you want to run from that area, especially on busy days. Maybe the creatures from Monsters Inc. can help with the 'Hazmat" zone.

I feel bad for the CMs that work the gate there, it must be tough.

There's a similar "odor-zone" in the line for POTC. The line that goes to the left where it's between the tree house and the side of the building often has a pretty ripe smell...

Not surprised by it at all....

I'm a former CM from very early 90s here. Several years ago friends and I that used to work at the park were out and walked passed big trash bins at the Irvine Spectrum. Some of us looked at each other as we passed it and said "Hey, the Disneyland smell!!!!" Seriously...that's what it smelled like backstage.

Speaking of the monorail, last week while we there, they had a K9 check all the cars before anyone was allowed to board, seemed like they were checking for hidden items, does anyone know whats thats all about?

I've noticed that smell too. Luckily I never ride when the lines are long so it is a short smell situation. I guess pirates do smell so maybe it is an authenticity thing!pirate:

I know when we were there last october, they were having a problem in dtd with the seweres overflowing :scared: .... it was by the trams if i remember right around goofys place or maybe the ann gettes place... anywayz i thought they had fixed it but maybe they just moved it down the street :rotfl2: .... well i hope they fix soon or i will try to remember to buy a nose plug for dtd!

Very interesting. Maybe they had reports of drug use or suspicious packages left behind. I'm sure it was nothing. Nothing bad ever happens at Disneyland, we all know that!:rotfl2: :thumbsup2 :scared1:

I thought it was all the "Depends" from standing in such long lines....:rotfl2:
