Odd question about the Dolphin

LOL I loved that movie when I was a kid. Just did a bit a searching and they now have it on DVD.They were supposed to do a remake with Jim Carrey for a 02 release but he backed out. Never heard anything more.

This Christmas we were on a bus headed to MGM. The bus driver went off on the Swan and Dolphin. She started off and I quote " That monstrosity over there is not Disney owned. Disney would never design anything like that." She went on and on about the ugly fish blah blah blah. We got sick of hearing it. She proceeded to miss the turn and we had to go down to another turnaround.:o Regardless of what some people think, we thought it was in really bad taste for a CM to be voicing such an opinion. Actually, more like releasing a chip off the shoulder. Imho. After all it is Disney property.

ARE warm...friendly and inviting! We have always enjoyed the theme and the beautiful architecture.

Blondie! LOL...That is the CUTEST fish, oh...how I LOVE that MOVIE! Thanks for the laugh. I feel a sentimental attachment to the Statues, and am comforted just by the mere sight of them. :p

Thanks for the info, Swandolphin. Great details, vivid descriptions...like Moby Dick (inside the Whale!). Nice to know workers take such pride in their work, they immortalize it with their names! Very nice, indeed. I learn something new...everyday.

;)

P.S. madcoco...how obnoxious! I could never hold my tongue in the presence of such a person. Very unprofessional. And for her to exclaim Disney would never design anything like that? What exactly is she referring to? Look at the New POP CENTURY resort. Why, there is a thread devoted entirely to the GAUDY NATURE of the theme/architecture! Also, The value resorts are not exactly...ummm..."understated", to put it mildly. :p

I've grown quite attached to them myself Dreamflight!

During our January trip, as we were walking around Epcot/World Showcase, and I looked over at the Dolphin, I felt very homesick cause we were staying at the Wilderness Lodge! I thought to myself, look how close we are...and we aren't staying there!

That's okay...'cause we're going back in August and staying at the Dolphin!

I think the dolphin statues are amazing. By the way, they each weigh 68,000 lbs. Wow.

KUDOS to you!! You'll be happily staying there in August. ;) I know the feel...and am "homesick" for the Dolphin when we stay ANYWHERE else on Prop. BTW..you have the CUTEST little "thingies" on your post! Always well-themed for the Holidays, etc. Just wished to tell you how much I personally enjoy your creativity! It always gives me JOY and HAPPINESS to view a post from you. :) Thanks. DF;)

Why thank you! I do have fun with my clipart, and change it every couple of days....so stay tuned!

I've really enjoyed all the answers and interesting information here, along with some chuckles along the way. :teeth:

Now I'll have lots to think about next time I see the dolphin statues. The Swan and Dolphin seem like they'd be great places to stay. Maybe someday I'll have occasion to try them out. :D
