Odd Question about DDE Letter...

Okay, I'm a pretty big worrywart :p , but what happens if I lose the temporary letter that I pick up at Epcot? Or if it gets destroyed from pool water, being folded up in our pockets too much, etc... I'm waiting til June to order DDE for our July trip so I know I won't have it in time. :worried:

everything will be wonderful..........Either scan this letter and make a few copies and you will have a few extras....if you dont' have the ability to do this on your computer go to a service in your area and they can make the good ones....We got our card two days before we left for our trip.......WE had a great time using it .CAUSE we love to SAVEEEEEEEEEEEE MONEY!! :cool1:
Have a great time using it

What Pumba said!! We didn't have our cards for our March trip. At that time they were just using e-mails. We made a few copies, but never used the extras. Our cards didn't come for over two months. They seem to be taking a long time, so you will not be the only one with this problem. Don't worry, just go and have a good time!!!

I didn't think I'd be able to copy what they send out now... isn't it on watermarked paper?

If it gets destryed or lost, you could call DDE and then pick up a new copy. Of course, you would need to call M-F during business hours.

Personally, I would just bite the bullet and order one now so that it comes before your trip. Ours came the weekend before we left in Feb. I've seen a number of posts where that seems to happen as long as there is 6 or so weeks of lead time. Even though I ordered it in Jan., it is good through next Feb. anyway.

We ordered our DDE card last week on 5/2. We got our letter on 5/6. The letter says it expires on 6/18. We are going 6/9, so if the cards don't come in time I don't see a problem. We'll just make copies. :Pinkbounc

I would make extra copies..because without the letter you do not get the discount, so swimming with it in your pocket really isn't a good idea.

The DDE letter is on a Disney watermark paper.
But I can't imagine a server giving a guest a hard time over a copy. They might scrutinize the ID more. :confused3
Really, techinically we have ONE DDE letter. But both my husband and I names are on the letter. What would happen if we split in the park and each needed to use the letter? One of us would have to use a copy.

Thanks everyone! I really want to wait until June to order it because I want the July 2006 expiration (Just in case we go late June - early July 2006). So they do still send a letter to your home?

See previous post in this thread. We ordered 5/2 and had letter on 5/6. This was Florida to California. So they seem to be doing a pretty fast job of getting this letter out. :Pinkbounc

The expiration date on the card seems to be 13 to 14 months out from order date. I ordered my card in March, my letter is good until 6/30/05 and it says my card expiration date will be 5/31/06 [almost 14 months from order date]
