We had something weird happen while we were camping at our local park last week. And we were curious if anyone else found this weird.

We were camping at our local campground last week due to some work we were having done to our home and we were parked in our tt next to a family of five that were tent camping and we quickly struck up a neighborly friendship, like most campers do. Well two days into the stay we noticed they were trying to clean their supper dishes by hose outside causing a great puddle by their tent, due to the fact the hose was not very long, so my dh and myself told them if they needed to wash any dishes please feel free to come and wash then in my tt's kitchen ( no big deal to us) so the next day, they grilled and came over and washed a few dishes afterward, once again no big deal.

But and there's always a but isn't there...the following day we left to go check on the progess of our home and whenever we got back the neighbor dh and dw were in MY tt washing up some dishes, I found this to be very rude because we weren't there, and had the doors closed, but not locked ( my bad) but my dh said well we did invite them to do dishes here so...

Well they didn't steal anything or mess with anything that I could tell of, it's just the fact they were in my tt with us not there, does anyone else think that's a little odd? Or is it just me?

They have since packed up and left before us but my goodness I guarded the tt with my life for the past few day they were there, my dh said I'm just reading to much into this, what do you guys think? I'm curious. TIA

I don't blame you for thinking it weird. It's one thing to go in someone's TT when they are there, quite another to just let yourself in when they are gone out of the CG altogether. I would never have the nerve. But we also always lock our camper when we leave the site. I guess that's the untrusting northerner in us. :sad2:
Glad that they were honest and didn't take anything or destroy any of your things.

Yeah I usually always lock the door but for some reason I thought my dh did and he thought I did. :confused3

I think it was pretty presumptive of them to use your TT while you were gone, and yes, rude. There are always those people when you extend a nicety to them, they take full advantage of you. What I don't understand is why they didn't have dish pans to wash their dishes in. :confused3 Had they never camped before??

Maybe they thought you left the door unlocked for them to wash dishes.:confused3

But you would think that At Some Point that folk would use some common sense before committing
"breaking and entering" due to you not being there.

Donnie, I had to laugh at the pictures because I know the story behind the grand gathering...hehe, if not I would be saying Oh my God!

Deb,they were first time campers, trying out their new tent for the family because come the spring they will be traveling with tent in hand for three weeks near the grand canyon. Maybe they thought that's what campers do. :rolleyes1

Frank ,you could be right..who know what people think these days.

Yes I find that odd odd odd did I mention I think its odd. We always lock our doors even at FW. Never know when the TP bandit might strike.:lmao:

 I can't believe that they did that. I would be crazy mad:mad: Yes, helping them wash their dishes is one thing- it's another when YOU'RE NOT THERE...

I think your DH is rightpopcorn::

I think it was very rude of them...that is your home. This kind of intrusion opens up so many "what ifs" on so many levels that it's scary. I see your DH's point since it is over and done with and no harm done but I would be very careful in the future.
