odd names

I hated having a different name as a kid because I could never buy any of that souvenier stuff that has your name on it

That was my sister-- her name is Carly. Not so unusual now-- but she's an adult in her 20's and was the only one around then.

My grandma is Johnie Mae

I have an uncle named Coker.

I have a cousin with the middle name Odean (not a family name either)

And another cousin named Madonna.

One of the residents at the nursing home I work in has the name of Echo. I found out she has a twin (don't know her name) but Echo was second to be born.

my dad 's name is Homer. i used to think that was an odd name until i started reading some of the names on here.

My name is Leonor. I'm named after my mother who was named after her aunt.
My father's name is Amado (Spanish which translates into "Beloved"). Have a brother who is Jr & his son is the third, but we just call him AC (thank goodness for nicknames!)
My grandmother's name (dad's side) was Eufracia.
My great grand mother's name was Tiburcia
My SIL is named Damaris

I guess my DD name is "normal": Krystina Lenore (named after my MIL ~Christina~ & my mom ~Leonor~) but changed the spellings to make it her "own".

The names go on & on, but I think you all have heard enough!

I worked with someone whose name was Dorcas...from all the posts, that name doesn't seem so unusual any longer.

I also know a little girl whose name is Tafta, she's named after her great grandmother Tefta.

I had never heard that before...
