I forgot all about Grandmothers. Mine was VIOMA. Great southern name.

This one girl I ran track against is named Deva. Her last name is French and it all sounds kinda cool.

My friend's roommate is Malachi (pronounced Mala-ki, I think). Never heard that one before.

susie, mary , nancy?????????::yes::

My best friends name is Shersti, I guess it's actually a common name in Scandanavia or somewhere. Her Mom heard it in college and liked it. My Grandmas name was almost Wowena Bobetta!! Yikes!!

:D Cyndy

I thought Brittany was unusual, or at least it was in georgia when I named her. 4 months later in Indy, every other little girl was named Brittany.
I haven't seen another Kelsea yet. Even if it's the same name, it's not usually spelled like that.

Jason and Dorcus??? :rotfl: :rotfl:

dd has not one but two friends named Kelsea, and both spell it that way.

Grandmothers do they count here? ok then, Icy , And Dixie those were my grandmothers. Icy was named after hers,, Icy dora :)

My name is Doreen - not too many of those around.

I don't know if you'd call my name unususal but it's Starleen, it's very rare that anyone calls me that it's usually just Star.

I have a friend whose sister's name is Bumbina. There was a girl in our town named Panda (and, I swear, her last name was Baer).

My grandmother's middle name was Dorcas and she hated it too.

From doing my genealogy, I found at least one man in each family named "Pleasant." My father said his uncle who was named Pleasant went by "Plez."

We didn't continue that tradition.

My name is not unusual, but it is spelled a bit differently than most people are used to. It is Jeanne, not JeannIe or Jean.

My grandmother's name was Oleita.

my name is normal -- Caroline, but my sister played a girl in HS tennis who's name was Candy. It's kinda funny on it's own but her last name was Chu pronounced like Chew so her name was Candy Chew..... :rotfl: I still laugh when I say it!!

My parents were friends w/ a couple where the wife's name was Dorcas. She was a cool lady!

Outside the Disney realm, my name's somewhat unusual.

our neighbors are Beach.
they named their daughter Sandy.

gee, hope they don't read these boards.

raven:tongue:

yes, Doreen was the name of one of the original Mouseketeers.

My dad said he named me Doreen because he liked the nickname Dory. I was 3 years old when I told him I didn't want to be called Dory.  Now it would be fashionable, after Finding Nemo! :teeth:
