Odd availability for 4/3 deal

I am online checkig into prices for a friend who wants to take her kids to WDW this spring. They are considering the ASMu family suites as an option. She's also considering a trip of 7 - 10 days, depending on cost. I found availability in May for the suites for 8 nights. But if I drop one night in order to see the difference in price for 7 nights, then the suite doesn't show as available. If I can book it for 8 nights starting on one night, why is it showing as unavailable to book for 7 nights starting 1 day later? That makes no sense to me.

This is b/c CRO releases a certain # of room blocks for each amt. of days, i.e. 7-day pkgs., 8-day pkgs., etc.
I know it's confusing! It even confuses us T.A.'s too!! Good Luck!

Thanks! So what would happen if someone booked an 8 day package and then dropped a day?

You've probably thought of a good loophole there !

That usually works. Most hotels in the country have length of stay requirements based on whats been booked already. That may be one of the last rooms and they dont want it empty for that one night.

I did exactly that with our trip in January. But it was not really easy to do. I booked online and then called to get this one day taken off. The CM at CRO was very accommodating and immediately said of course we can do that. But then she really had a problem getting it done. I was put on hold for about 15 minutes, but she managed to fix it. Perhaps she had to get permission from a manager or so???

Also on mousesavers the packages with this deal have different codes, depending on how many nights you want to stay.

In the end I am not saying that it can't be done, it worked for me. But it might not be as easy at it seemed to begin with. Good luck!!
