I have a friend who I was talking to last night about WDW. I was telling her some things about my trip mentioning that I heard some other people going etc. She tells me she is looking into the cruise but was getting frustrated bc she cant get the prices for certain staterooms for her family of 6 and would more like to know when they are available and work around that. Ok so I ask on are you doing the cruise/park combo and she says no, just the crusie.

This is what I find odd, she had not been to Disney since she was a kid, 2 years ago, she took her family and went and stayed in the Nick hotel and went to MK for the MNSSHP only. Nothing else just that. When I mentioned ceratin rides, they didnt go on these, except maybe two, they watched the parade, didnt take any pictures with the characters, but the kids did trick or treat. She did not experience WDW at all, and even told someone we both know not to bother with the MSSSHP. Now I have never been to MNSSHp but this just boggles my mind.

I dont understand why you would only go to the one event, not do anything else, then start looking into the cruise.

Different strokes I guess...

I wonder why if she is not into Disney, why choose the Disney cruise. She can probably get a better deal on another cruiseline, if she could care less about the Disney experience.

yeah that's what I think. Although I was trying to pump up the parks by mentioning all the places that a family of 6 can stay, in case that was it, like the FW cabins etc, or even if they do stay offsite, why would you wan to exp all the parks too.

That is strange...
Maybe she's just not into rides but likes to cruise? I would think you should love Disney to want to pay so much more for DCL when there are non-DCL cruises for much less $.

I can undrestand not being in to TOT(ok I cant really) but that is the beauty of Disney, you have rides like Winnie the Pooh or Buzz and all the fabulous shows. DS4 was not crazt about rides until he got to Disney.

Her kids are 9,8,5,almost 4. The rides and shows at Disney are perfect for those ages. I have only cruised once but I want to wait unitl my kids are a little older for that. Although I know others go wiht kids my ages.

I agree with you but it's true that a Disney vacation isn't really relaxing. (dh says it's more work than work! lol!)
Cruising is very relaxing and her kids would all be old enough for the kids club, though our 1st DCL cruise was Feb and my ds's (then 6.5 and just turned 10) didn't really want to go to the club/lab. We started cruising when our younger ds was 4 (non-DCL cruise lines.) DCL is great for kids of all ages. :goodvibes
