We bought an AP for my husband last December. Our FIRST day of the trip was Dec 17th. I think I bought him a voucher right before we left but nonetheless our first day of using it and when he had to get his pic taken (he hadn't had one in a few years) was on the 17th.

We are going again this Dec and I was looking at his pass and it says it expires on Dec 15th! How is that right considering he didn't use it last year till the 17th???

I thought it expires on the FIRST day of your last trip. Meaning Dec 17th of 11???

Anyone know if they changed things and expires BEFORE your last trip date?

And I just looked at my pics from then and our actual first day wasn't till the 18th!! I remember now that the 17th was the girls last day of school and I think we drove down that night but I know for a fact that we wouldn't have turned in the voucher till the next day because he had to get his pic taken. So I don't know what the heck is going on!!

Sounds like an error was made when you picked it up, and maybe they put your voucher purchase date on it. You sould try going to a ticket booth and seeing if they can fix this to reflect the first day it was used. I'd be ready to answer some question and talk to a manager about this since it was so long ago.

That's crazy! They need to change how they do the AP processing. I bought mine before the AP processing center closed. No problems, everything was as it should be. Hubby's we bought after the AP center closed. When they first gave him the AP, it had the date that we bought the voucher, not the date we activated it. They had to make a new one.

The AP passport should expire within 1 year's time of purchase date not the 1st date used.

Not true. I'd call guest services directly, Kelly, and be prepared to argue your point. If you had noticed it last year when the AP was processed, they would have fixed it then. But they've got to have records of when the AP was used, I'd think. Good luck!

Depends what you mean by that. The OP purchased a voucher online and that is not an actual AP. Disney says that by purchasing the voucher ahead of time, you may activate it on a day that you choose.

If you bought an AP outright and for someone reason did not use it that first day, then you would be correct. For example, if I go to the ticket booth and buy an AP, it would be activated that day. But if I buy a voucher online, the AP does not activate that first day. It activates the day I exchange the voucher for an AP.

Yeah, I think if perhaps the OP still has the email with the voucher or a credit card statement of when it was purchased that might help. Good luck! :goodvibes

This also happened to us: purchased online 10/19/10 and entered the park on 10/31/11. I called, they fixed it on their end, but obviously can't do anything about our actual APs. So we were told to go to the ticket booth when we return on 10/30/11 and we can renew/fix at the same time. They said this is a better option than renewing ahead of time, since we have to go to the booth anyway. And we can still get the $20 off and 20% off next $50+ purchase.

I think this is the number: (714) 781-4565 (sorry, I've called so many Disney numbers in the last few weeks!

Make sure you have your info ready: Name(s), AP #(s), and I think billing info (?) because you may have to leave a message. But they will call you back!

The AP center just recently closed.....we got our APs in April and we got them at the AP center.

No, this is not correct. The AP is valid from the first date of use. I know, I've done this multiple times.

OP shouldn't even need that, the park can look up the activity on the AP to verify the information provided.

Good luck OP!

Yours is not the first post I've seen where that has happened. I'd definitely call and see if they can research and hopefully correct the dates for you. I have a feeling they're well aware of the issue.

It's a good reminder for anyone activating an AP at Disneyland though. Definitely verify the date when you activate your pass. I'm sure it's much easier to take care of right then than after the fact.

Are you sure? Maybe this depends on where it's purchased. We have actual AP cards that say "buy your ticket here go straight to the gate" and they also say "annual passport expires one year from the date of entry into Disneyland Park" but we did purchase them at the Disney Store.

Thanks so much everyone!! In this particular case it probably won't matter since we are going the 9-12th of December and will not use it again anyway BUT I wanted clarification because IF we had chosen to go at a later date or if he was going to renew the renewal should be from the ORIG date he used it not 3 days earlier.

That is kind of what I thought and honestly I never even thought to look at it back then. We all had AP's this past year and they all just kind of got shoved in the holder and I never really looked at it. Probably should have when they gave it to him but NEVER thought I would need to. Assumed it was right. Now he is the only one left with one and so I checked it to make sure it covered our trip THIS year and at first was shocked because I thought wow we JUST made it but that is what got me thinking and then I looked up the dates on our photos and plus I had remembered we left on the 17th. The 15th was like a wed and the kids were still in school so that is how I KNOW we couldn't have used it before that.

Anyway thanks so much everyone for your help and luckily I don't think it matters for this trip since we won't need it and he is not going to renew BUT I am glad to know that there are others with mistakes and that hopefully it can be fixed!
