We are planning a trip from 10/3 to 10/12 of 2019 and I am wondering is that time of year super crowded? We have been 3 times during April school vacation weeks and didnt find it crazy. Would October be about the same or worse in your experience? Thanks

We go in October often for F&W and enjoy that time of year.:thumbsup2 Can't imagine that October is more crowded than April school vacation. At least most kids are in school in October with the exception of Columbus Day weekend; I have heard from friends who have gone to F&W, Epcot is crowded then. Personally would not go anytime during Columbus Day time frame, too busy for us. :scared1:

Sat the 12th will be jamming as it starts the Columbus Day weekend but other than that you should be OK crowd wise. We used to go during early Spring Break for years until switching to F&W so we have some experience with both time frames. Crowd levels will be similar to what you're used to with the exception of that last day. I'd go either time in a heartbeat, being sure to avoid Columbus Day, the weekend prior and the day after.

Columbus Day is the 8th.

Edit: Just realized this is for 2019. Carry on.

There are no slow times of year really but October is generally not the busiest month. The exceptions are Epcot on the weekends due to F&W and Columbus Day weekend in my experience.

We'll be right there with you, OP. The only way we can do October is to go over fall break. We're trying to hit WDW in every month :D

Going for the Halloween party next year and it has to be October. My husband said no way can we do it before lolllll

See you there! We'll be heading there those same dates (flying in the 2nd most likely but not going near a park until the 3rd). Having done those same dates in 2013, last week of September in 2016, and end September / 1st week of October in 2017, it's definitely our favorite time of year to go.

Crowds get a little more in October than September, but not bad at all. I've found crowd levels are still affected by things like Extra Magic Hours, Halloween party days, etc., but even with the zoo that evening EMH at Magic Kingdom was last year, we still got a lot of walk-on rides in after HEA and fireworks. Halloween party days are nice, both for the daytime (or 4pm entry if you're only using a party ticket) and during the actual party (as long as it's not the first party or end of October closer to Halloween).

thanks everyone....keeping 10/3 to 10/12 leaving before the Columbus Day rush...

See you there! Planning October 5th-12th next year! Hoping it's a little quieter than usual and people push back their trips for the opening of Galaxy's Edge.

We are going to same time... 10/5-10/12 2019. Hoping the same thing, people hold out for Galaxy Edge so it won't be as busy the week we are there.

Hi there. We have been during this time the past few years. 2 years ago when we went we stayed at Pop Century and it was dead, we had the quiet pool all to ourself most of the trip! This past year, it was a bit more crowded so we focused on getting into the parks early. It is a fun time to go because you get to enjoy the Food and Wine Festival in Epcot center! I plan which park to go to based on extra magic hours. I actually try to avoid the parks with extra magic hours as I find they are the most crowded.
