Hmmmmm. Good question! I guess classic? But I’m not married to it. I’d rather go to the “less crowded and able to do everything without ridiculous lines” DL.
If heat is not an issue, September is a decent bet. Otherwise go the first few days of November while they’re tearing down Halloween and putting up Christmas. The crowds tend to favor one or the either (or both) and in that transition period it’s much quieter.

*disclaimer: Lower crowds in 2022 are a completely different “lower crowds” than 10-15 years ago. People have been clamoring for Disneyland with increased interest for many years now, and are still working through their pandemic wiggles. Hope for the best, but expect less than.
