October Weekend Question

Hi, I'm thinking about taking a weekend trip to Disney in October. Are the weekends in October crowded? I'm hoping to squeeze in a lot, but don't want to try it if I'll be spending the short amount of time there in lines. Do you think it's possible to visit Disney in a weekend? I've been there before, but it was always during spring break, so I'm not sure what it's like during the fall. Thanks!

Well I guess they're busier than weekdays... but we're going to MK on a Sunday, same as last time, and we don't expect it to be too bad.

Officially it's off season - unless you're going Columbus Day weekend when it is much more crowded!

We're going during Columbus Day weekend, and i am expecting a Disney Mad-House!

Last Year DTwin and I went for a long weekend in October.We deliberately avoided Columbus day weekend b/c of the expected crowds and as a result got BOMBARDED with people.
We didn't have a clue as to why it was so crowded, but that Monday in the Magic Kingdom (not a holiday Monday) a cast member told us was THE MOST CROWDED DAY OF THE ENTIRE YEAR, to date, at the Magic Kingdom! We couldn't figure out why. The castmember said that the next day, Tuesday, was a jewish holiday and alot of families took their kids out of school that Monday (which was only the 3rd week into the school year) and made a long weekend out of it!
Anyway, point being-you never know with Disney!

October isn't very crowded in the parks, with the possible exception of Epcot because of the Food & Wine festival. You didn't indicate just what in particular you want to do, so just keep the F&W in mind if your interest is centered on Epcot.

I'm sure that somebody will also point out that the Columbus Day weekend (9th) will be busier than the other weekends. You may also hear about the golf tournament going on in October, but we've never noticed any difference in the crowds in the parks while this even goes on.
