October weather, crowds and what to expect?

OK, I saw someone posted a question about January and it got me thinking, too. What about October? We're going 10/11-18/03. What do I expect? Long lines? Swimming, I hope.

Someone fill me in. Thanks.

We have been down the last 2 years during October and been wonderfully surprised at the moderate crowds and certainly enjoyed the MNSSHP's that we attended.
We went swimming at both, the resorts and Blizzard Beach and it was fine. Little cold when you are up high and it was windy but other than that pretty good.
I think you will really enjoy the time frame you have picked!

Expect to have some crowds on the 10/11 weekend as this is a holiday weekend ( Columbus day).

Swimming should not be a problem as the pools are heated an if you are coming from the north anything from upper 70's is swimming weather.

We were there the 3rd week of October this past year, and the weather was beautiful. The days were in the mid 80's and the nights in the low 60's. We did have a bit of rain, once in the late afternoon, extending into night, and the other after 10 pm.

The crowds were very manageable, and with the use of EE mornings and FP, we encountered very short wait times.

We went swimming and rode water rides with no ill effects. The pools are heated, so depending on where you are from, even nighttime swimming is not out of the question . (I however, must have it in the 80's and sunny before I set foot in a pool), so I was comfortable swimming during the day.

We too were there this past October. It was warm enough to swim, the crowds were moderate and the MNSCHP was a lot of fun.
