October waitlist

Does anyone know the chances of a 2-BR opening up mid-October (10-13)? I am on the wait list at all the DVC resorts, hoping the three nights will become available at one of them. Apparently the night of Oct. 12 is not available, even at SSR. (I realize it is food & wine festival at Epcot). Is it likely to open up?

I'm wondering about the same thing. We were able to book all our dates at SSR except Oct. 12th. I'm hopeful it will open up.

When I called (last week) there wasn't much left. A few days here and there. I was highly surprised. Call ASAP.

We went during October our last trip, trying to minimize days out of school for DS - as, unfortunately, was seemingly everyone else on the planet! We usually went at the end of September, and were amazed at how crowded it was. Sorry you ran into problems. Hope your waitlist comes through.

Yeah, i am wait listed there too and just spoke with MS today and even wait listed a GV to see if that may work....nothing for the 12th.....whats up with that i wonder. I have been really blesses in the past and always had the wait list come thru ......last year at AK so keep your fingers crossed.

I am also on waitlist for 10/12. Just purchased at SSR last week and booked a studio for 10/11, 1BR 10/12 and back to the studio on 10/13 for the rest of the week. I am not looking forward to two moves, but a 1BR for the whole week would dig into our points for our Jan trip, we only purchased 160pts and I have to be conservative.

I think Columbus Day is getting more and more busy. I was there last year at this time and it was pretty busy (very hot too). I booked Oct 22nd-Oct26th today at SSR. Everything else was sold out for a 2BR. Wait listed at BWV.

Most of the schools in my area have the day off, followed by a day during the week for open house; so it's a good week to drag the kiddies out of school.

Funny thing is, this is the 1st year that DH wasn't able to get the week off work, others with more seniority grabbed it (new hunting season?). Couldn't get the week after either, had to settle for 3rd week in month.

We're waitlisted for Oct 12th at SSR for a studio also. We were able to get the 13 & 14th at SSR and 15-18th at AKV. Like everyone else we will hope the waitlist comes through.

I booked the 9th thru the 12th in a studio at BW some months ago with no problem (standard view). I was in Epcot a couple of years ago during F&W and it wasn't too bad with the crowds, but it was pretty hot.

Being that it has gotten more crowded (according to what I'm reading), I'm thinking we'll go into Epcot on Thursday instead of Friday or Saturday for our F&W fun - hopefully it will be less crowded on Thursay.

Does anyone know when the schedule of events - specifically the beer tasting demonstration at Rose & Crown - will be available for viewing and booking?

I started out with a reservation for October 4-12 at the BCV in a studio. A big work project was scheduled for implementation for Oct 1 so I moved to Nov 2-10 at the BCV. Due to a family Disney Christmas trip and the project being delayed, I'm trying to move back to October 4-12. So far only SSR is available but I've got 6 of 8 days at OKW. I still need Oct 8 & 9 in a studio. I'm also wait listed at BCV, BWV, AKLV and VWL for the full 8 days. If you picked up Nov 2-10 today it was due to my cancellation. What a mess.....

We have 3 rooms booked at AKV for Oct 12-17th. 2 are savanah studios and I got them when I called. Then I got a value room and it was 13-17th. I got my 12th waitlist about 2 weeks ago.

We now have all 3 rooms for the 12-17th. I am kinda bummed hearing it will be so busy......

I'm going with my sister and my friends from work. Since we'll have 5 in a room, we're currently in an AKL one bedroom but are waitlisted for a 2 bedroom. I'm hoping that some of the BWV and BCV rooms open up as I'm sure that would open up a 2 bdrm ALK for me!

YEAH!!!!!! That means that I am one step closer....I am wait listed for the exact same day at OKW.....I have the rest of the week....You give me hope!!!!

A asked a cast member why it was so hard this year to get a reservation and he said it's because AKL is selling so fast but the resort is not finished yet so there are more members than rooms. Not sure if that is right or not but he put us on a waitlist and another CM I talked to later said that there was NO hope of us getting it because we needed two rooms at once. I am looking forward to the trip but was just worried about how remote and hard to get around that SSR seemed.
