Hi! We have always gone in October. Was thinking of switching it up and going in November next year.
I believe Jersey week is the 1st full week in Nov(?) so I was thinking the 2nd full week.
Do you think it would be less crowded? How does the weather compare?
Our beloved October has been getting more & more crowded. Would the Christmas decorations be up (hotels, too)?
We would probably be staying in BC or BW if that makes any difference.
Thanks !!!

November will be less crowded and probably a little cooler. But there will still be crowds. Christmas decorations go up at the beginning of November, but they’re not up everywhere till after TG. All the holiday offerings are also available after TG. I’d go with November.

MK would be fully decorated for the Christmas party, but resorts take longer.

It’s possible (but unusual) for a November cold snap being too cold for swimming), shorts weather is still more common.

November 2019 would have a greater chance than October of SWL being open

Following. We're actually hoping for the first week of December but I have been getting real nervous about this because we definitely don't want to go until Star Wars opens. But - we also want to be there for Christmas decorations.

We flip back and forth between late Oct and early Nov to squeeze 2 trips into one AP. I think Jersey Week is over rated as a problem but the weekend in Nov that has the half marathon and other races may interfere with park touring plans. The last weekend of Food&Wine will be crazy busy, we went home that Sat last Nov. We're comfortable with either choice being sure to plan around the races and the last Sat/Sun of F&W.

We went in 2017 from Nov 10 - 14. That was the last weekend of Food & Wine. EPCOT was packed on Saturday and Sunday. There were some decorations up in some parts of the parks. The resorts didn't have any decorations up yet. When I asked about it, they said they were starting their decorations on Nov 16th. So, we just missed those.

So, if you are hoping to take in the decorations at the hotels, I would go for the second full week. If you could make Nov 14 - 20 work, that would probably work better to get you more Christmas decorations.

Happy planning!

Honestly I would not fret about "Jersey Week"... I wouldn't quite call it fictional but it's not far from that.
I think this is correct, this is more of a Disboards thing than an actual thing. I'd go in early November with the hope that it will have cooled off just a bit. In early November you can still catch F&W at Epcot (provided they don't change the dates.)
