October vs February?

I've been planning to sneak away to the World, with my 3-year-old, for three nights the end of this month. But now some stuff has come up, and I'm considering canceling and rebooking for February.

I've been in October a few times and loved it, but that was back in the days of lower crowds and legacy fastpass. I know the weather will probably be great, much better than in February, but February in FL would be better than February in NYC, in any case.

We won't be doing any Halloween parties, sadly, because my son goes to sleep early. Maybe next year. We're also avoiding Food & Wine, because my son doesn't eat. (Just kidding. Mostly.) So special events aren't really a factor. No ADRs to worry about, because I only planned this in July, and I couldn't get ANY that worked for us (seriously).

If we go in February, we'd go either the first or last week, hoping to avoid mid-winter breaks and President's Day.

EasyWDW has our Oct dates in the 4-6 range, and our Feb dates in the 2-4 range;
TouringPlans has our Oct dates in the 3-5 range, and our Feb dates in the 2-6 range

If I wait until February my parents might join us, which would be nice, though I've also been looking for this almost-solo trip for my son and I.

Any thoughts on which time of year is better?

I suggest the first week in Feb.

(I more than suggest it, BTW...
my wife and I will be there the first week in Feb.) ;)

What's more, we first booked this October, then cancelled due to the difficulty in booking restaurant ADRs.

Thanks, Robo. I'm inclined to take your advice, if it works out. Maybe I'll see you there -- you look like a nighttime castle with a moon on it, right?

I was shocked by how hard it was to make ADRs. And it's not like I was expecting much, either.
