Hey everyone, hubby and I are new to the forum. I have been reading many of your posts and it seems like you all love to have a good time.

We are headed to Universal, IOA, Sea World, and the Magic Kingdom Oct 12-17th. We went to Disney for our honeymoon and we wanted to go back to Orlando this yr for our 4th Anniv and my B-day. I have not made our reserv. yet but I believe we are staying at the Doubletree(prev Radisson). I am very familar w/ Disney but not the other parks, never been to Sea World or IOA and the last time I went to Universal was probably 8 years ago.

We would love any suggestions on any of the parks. We are both young, no kids but love to play like one. Any suggestions for romantic &/or great restaurants? Any must do's away from the parks? Any suggestions would be great :) It was nice meeting you and look forward to talking with you.

I would highly recommend Kelly Monaghan's (? spelling) book on Universal Orlando. Also, there are different WDW guidebooks that have a section on Universal & Seaworld & review the hotels, restaurants, etc..

You might even wish to consider staying at one of the Universal Hotels (many people have booked Royal Pacific Resort for $129/night) for a couple of nights to get front of the line access for rides. Then you could change to one of the WDW resorts for the MK. Codes for October stays at WDW should be out soon. Also, they are running a special at Hotel Royal Plaza & for $72/night, you could get a tower room at downtown Disney!

Congratulations on your wedding anniversary & birthday! We did the same double celebration back in May (5 years!). What fun!

If u get a chance u should try TChoup for dinner at RPR its a great restaurant:jester:

There is also Halloween Horror Nights that will be going on - nothing is as romantic as being scared out of your wits!!!:scared1:

Yes, I agree! Halloween Horror Nights is a MUST DO!!! In fact, when we went in 1998, we did not get the VIP Tour because it wasn't crowded. I'm not even sure now that I'm thinking about it, that they even offered it. You really didn't need it back then.

We went last October and figured we wouldn't need the VIP Front of the Line Pass, but we figured wrong.
It was PACKED and we didn't get to enjoy four of the mazes.

A lot of the Florida Residents wait for HHN and they all enjoy going, that's why it's so crowded.

Let me tell you, HHN is one of my favorite things to do. No one is better at the art of the haunted house than Universal Studios. After all, they practically invented the horror movie so many years ago.

Last year we went into one of the mazes called Psycho-Scarapy. It was like you were walking through a real institution, and the inmates were definitely running the asylum!
We went through one room, the mattress room, and it Smelled like soiled mattresses!
Before that, we went through a bathroom. Well, there was feces all over, used toilet paper everywhere and the stench smelled Too Real! My husband told me not to rub up against any walls, just in case.

You definitely Should Get the VIP or Front Of The Line Pass!

Halloween Horror Nights is absolutely The Best. I would be going back again this October just for the weekend with hubby and friends, but then a little thing like the Disney Cruise was planned for next Spring and that's coming first.
But Next October, I'M THERE!!!!!
Remember, VIP or Front Of The Line Passes!!

Also, you are going at The Best Time Of Year - It is Not Crowded (except for HHN) and the temperature is Awesome!

Another good place to be in October is one of the Disney water parks. Again, not crowded and wonderfully warm temperatures. I' heard that Blizzard Beach was the best of them, and so we tried it. It was great.

One of my favorite IOA restaurants is the Enchanted Oak tavern. It's not a full-service restaurant, it's a counter service restaurant but they have the best food there. It is also a beautifully designed restaurant. you really feel like you are dining in an old oak tree. The ceiling has the most beautiful stained glass. It's my favorite place to eat there. The offer roasted chicken, barbequed ribs and a few other things. The food is Delicious!

Since you're going at the least crowded time of year, you can probably do Universal in the morning and early afternoon and try IOA in the late afternoon/evening.
If you're going to get a park hopper pass and go to Animal Kingdom, try to get there as soon as the gates open and sprint on back to the safari ride. The animals are out early before it gets warm. We usually go to Animal Kingdom the first half of the day, then hop over to MGM for the rest of the day.

I hope you have a great time!!!
