October trip planned - not happy with dates need advice

We have gone late October or early November each time we went. (Our focus was crowds more than weather.) We have had temps in the 90's and temps drop as low as the 50's. I realize that there are average temperatures for that time of year, but the reality is that we've experienced a wide range in temperatures at about the same time of year. Overall, it is a great time of year to go and the weather was always managable.

It's a tough decision when dealing with something so unpredictable.

Well looks like I am stuck for now. No availability at all at VWL for 12/2-12/10.

For 11/11 - 11/20 I can get SSR or OKW with 11/15-11/19 at the THV if I want. I just am not all that keen on SSR or OKW in general. I like the THV and we have done split stays before but the start of that week is not available at any resort that thrills me.

I like the hustle and bustle of the "hotel feel" at the other DVC resorts. I like having a view. Last few trips have been at BWV Boardwalk view. I am not sure if I would like the laidback/condo feel of SSR and OKW. I would do THV because I have always wanted to stay there. We always rent a car so that would not be an issue.

So for now we are leaving it as is and I am not happy. My own fault for not thinking about the heat and how much I hate it when I booked early Oct to begin with :(

I'm a November/Jan Disney vacationer. Went one year in May-record heat I hated it. Went in October 3rd week and it was just too hot for me and I hate those darn love bugs. I love November. I've been the week before Thanksgiving and the 2 weeks before that and love love love both of them. Weather is shorts during the day and capris at night, maybe a little sweater pretty consistently. Love the Christmas decorations.

I don't like switching rooms but I'd rather switch mid vacation than go at a time I don;t like. Good luck.

If its any help. The last 2 years running in October have been a bit less than Hot. 2 years ago when we went in the middle of october it didnt even hit 70 degrees.
Last year i kinda recall it not even hitting 80.
You may just be ok with the heat problem

We usually go the last week of January/First week of Feb. This time we decided to switch it up because the weather the past few trips has been pretty crappy. So I booked the first full week of October.

As far as crowds.. the only issue with October is weekends b/c of food and wine at epcot. And Columbus weekend. The rest of the month is very managable.

The more I think about it the more I think I will just be miserable then. I despise the heat with a passion. We did one trip once in the middle of September and I was hot, sweaty amd cranky the whole time. UGH!

So I'd like to move my dates around but I don't know where to go. Primary for me is NO CROWDS. Secondary to that is weather. I'd love to hit Christmas time but I have heard that the first two weeks of December are crowded? I don't want to go after that as then it's too close to Christmas and we always have things to do etc.

Does anybody have any suggestions? How's late October? Early November?

We've gone just about every October since 2003 (missed a few). It is our favorite time, we look at it as an extended summer for us. Coming from Upstate NY, we love getting a little more pool and sun time before winter.

October has been both for us - we have had days in the 60's, and days close to 90. I have never found it oppresive (we go towards the end of October).

Crowds have been a little bigger than what I remember from years back, but no problem overall. No really long waits, and fast passes are sometimes not even needed (it all depends). EPCOT is very manageable as long as you go during the week - the weekends are much more crowded in that park.

We love October -

The first two weeks of December are definitely not dead. We went last Dec and I felt it was more crowded than some summer weeks.

We also went the last week of October and it was crowded due to F and W and Halloween parties and it was so hot. Now this was what they called unseaonably hot, therefore you really don't know what the weather will be like for sure. In fact they broke records for the end of October.

I agree with November after Food and Wine.
