We finalized our trip for 10-1-12 to 10-4-12 for a family of four. We are currently booked at the Anaheim Courtyard by Marriott at Disneyland Resort but are having second thoughts. The reservation can be cancelled with no fees up to a certain date. We really like the Marriott brand and have stayed at other Courtyard's with no problems. As with any hotel we have read mixed reviews. Can anyone share the experience here? We used ART our last trip (2010) and didn't have any real problems. I have read that you need to walk to the Anaheim Marriott to catch ART. Has anyone encountered any issues with that? Is the Toy Story lot an option as well?
Any other hotel suggestions for a family of four?

I would recommend the Fairfield Inn at 1460 Harbor, which is where I stayed at on my most recent trip. For 10/1 to 10/4 it is the same price as the Courtyard ($119), however you can walk from the hotel to the parks and there is no need to wait for the ART. It is adjacent to Mimi's which others have said is really good and there is also a McDonald's. There is no free breakfast however (does the Courtyard include breakfast?). I plan on staying at the Fairfield on my September trip, but upgraded to the GCH for my October trip (because I got a $225/night rate).

We always stay at the HoJo. We try to get the ET/Retro Rate which is $59/night & up (depending on your room type) but right now they don't have any rooms avail at this rate.

We love the clean, comfy rooms & DS adores the pirate themed water park. They also have a game room & nice (if overpriced) convenience store. And we've never had a bad customer service experience here! It's right next door to Mimi's (sign up online 2 wks prior for coupons!) and within walking distance to the parks. They do also offer suites- although those usually book fairly early.

To be honest- this is the ONLY place DH & DS will stay. Prior to marriage & baby- I stayed at a TON of different off site hotels. Some real dumps & other's just OK, nothing really spectacular. Personally, I find that if you want more of a "WOW" factor in your hotel, it's best to stay onsite or in nearby Garden Grove. So for close off site hotels, HoJo wins every time!:thumbsup2
