Hello everyone. I'm wanting to book a sailing in October, but concerned about hurricane season. Should I be? Or just book it, look forward to it and enjoy the trip? I've sailed before (last July) and the weather was awesome! I don't want rain and rough seas to "dampen" my trip. Any words of wisdom is truly appreciated. Especially if you sailed during this time before....
Thanks!
I would go ahead and book it...Of course, I would make sure I had a great vacation insurance plan (you never know), and be ready and open to any changes in ports of call, or any other changes needed to make the cruise a safe one...
We were on the 1 day shortened Hurricane Jeanne cruise, and other than having to disembark in a little of a mad rush Friday night, and one day of extremely high seas, and some pool closures on that day, it was the best weather I ever encountered so far...We had sunny beautiful skies every day, and to the best of my memory, never saw a drop of rain....
We have booked for this coming September again..Maybe we are a little loose in the caboose, but, this is the most affordable for us...We go in to it with, insurance, and the knowledge that anything can, and possible will happen, and have somewhat of a backup plan, in case the ship never sailed....
So, this is our experience, and although somewhat harried, we had a MAGICAL time...
HTH
