Me ~ Sue ~ 54 (but 55th birthday when we are in Orlando)
DH ~ Keith ~ (50 something) ~ VOP - Very Organised Person
DS ~ Iain ~ 17 ~ Golfer and main spender

This is a much needed holiday for us as we haven’t had any time away for 2 years now, due to circumstances beyond our control. (We had been due to go to Tunisia last October but my Mum took ill and we were advised not to go away. Sadly, I lost her during what would have been our first week away).

So this was booked just after Christmas and we have been looking forward to it for a while now. We found a good deal (well, I found it, but Keith thinks he did !!). Flying from Aberdeen with BA to Gatwick then on to MCO. We have booked the car separately with Dollar and are having 4 days at the Sirata Beach resort on St. Pete’s beach. (This was recommended by a friend, so it should be good). Then we return to Orlando to stay at the Hampton Inn on Universal Boulevard (also recommended). We bought into the DVC in May but are saving our points for next year.

I was also hoping to see the Beach Boys at the Food & Wine Festival, as I had seen them 2 years ago, but sadly their dates do not fit in with ours this time. (But hopefully next year they will). *Might have to go and see Village People instead (DH and DS will absolutely LOVE that). Son also misses the Funai classic golf tournament but is happy to play Magnolia, Palm, and Lake Buena Vista anyway.

We haven’t started packing just yet, but we have a few weeks to go. But more summer clothes bought (for all of us), and we are just about ready to go.

All we need now is more sun cream and more dollars. (Already have a lot but probably need a few more).

Park tickets are bought - 14 day ultimate Disney, 2 day Sea World and Busch Gardens, and 2 day Universal/IOA. So now we are ready to go armed with our camera, and will take lots and lots of piccies.

I’m really looking forward to it, as we are meeting up with a few DISsers too, which will be fun.

More when we get back !!

Hello ScottishSue,
We are also leaving form Aberdeen aiport in October :cool1: - When are you going?

Hiya Sue,
I'm having a problem sending a pm, but we're off on the 13th October, staying at POR for 7 nights then 7 nights on Disney Magic(our first cruise, and not too sure what to expect, or more to the point what to pack.)Myself, DH, DS(15)DS(12)DD10.
I have made prioroty seatings for Ohana's, Coral Reef, Crystal Palace,Tony's, and San Angel Inn. We're doing MNSSHP,before which dd (10) is going to the BibbideeBobideeBoutique.
We will also be celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary on 21st.

Natalie - no, sorry, no ADR's booked - we don't book. We're "take it as it comes" type folk !!

ScottishDisMam - would you like to join us at the Rose & Crown, at 4 p.m. on the 17th October for a DIS meet............ lots of folk are coming !!

(BTW your post count is too low, that's why you cant PM me).

That sounds good. We have a ressie for Ohana's at 6 so we can pop over on the monorail from Epcot.
My husband is a bit unsure though. He likes Disney, but tolerates going so much because I love it so much, and he can't believe that I've found a whole community of like minded Disney lovers:rotfl: so everyone will have to be gentle with him!

Sounds like you have a great trip planned Sue and long overdue by the sounds of things:hug: . We always use the Aberdeen flights to Gatwick. So much better than the trip to Glasgow!!!

Hope you have a great time.

Susan
