We are planning a 50th birthday trip to DL for my DH. We don't care if we don't go right on his birthday. Is the weather in November warm? How early do they put up the Christmas decorations?
Are there special things we can do for his birthday? Does anyone have a great adult birthday experience to share?
Thanks

It seems to me I've read there's more chance of rain in November. Plus less daylight hours, of course. We went last October (early in the month) and the weather was good, but I preferred our previous trip in late September, which was a bit warmer (downright hot on some days) with more daylight. :goodvibes

If you go in Oct. you'll see a lot of Halloween decorations; in Nov. I imagine those will be gone, and depending on your timing, you will either be in the middle of ride closures for Christmas overlays, or perhaps see the Christmas decorations up. We saw all the lovely Halloween decorations, but I've seen photos of Christmas decorations, and they are really spectacular!

oct go for halloween party.
November after thankgiving and you'll get the christmas decrations.

I went in Oct for the first time last year and LOVED it!!! The Halloween and fall decorations were awesome and we had so much fun at the Halloween party! I also love going in November...the weekend before Thanksgiving. This is when the kickoff for the Christmas season usually starts. The Christmas decorations are amazing and there's no place more magical! I guess you'll have to decided if you like Halloween or Christmas better then made your decision. You can't go wrong with either choice!

Oh, I've been in November when it was 95º and also when it was really cold so I guess you never really know. October is usually pretty nice...warm during the day and cooler at night.

As far as special things to do on your birthday....How about a trip around the park in the Lilly Belle? You'll need to board the train on Main Street and ask a CM if you can ride. Tell them it's for your husband's 50th. He can also drive the Mark Twain riverboat with the Captain. Ask the CM as you board about doing this. Make sure you get a birthday button at City hall for him. He will be showered with birthday greetings all day from cast members and guests! I'm turning 50 this year also and will be spending my birthday at Disneyland too!:woohoo: Have fun!!!

October is more crowded than early November (but not by a large amount). It seems as though the Halloween party has really increased attendance during that time. You will get better weather though, although So. Cal doesn't really have much "bad weather" in general.

For birthdays, we went when my dad was celebrating. We got him a birthday sticker and all day CM's would wish him a happy birthday, even saying his name.

November's weather will be nice, but not as predictable as October. I know a lot of people seem to enjoy DL in the rain for the low crowds and stuff but I just do not want any part of going in the DL.

We have been in early October, right before MHT so we missed most of that crowd but the weather was so nice. Capris and tank tops!

Two years ago, the week before thankgiving we were in DL and it was in the 90's hot and wonderful! We have always hit great weather in November!

We went this past November and had awesome weather. I have no idea what is usual.

We went from Veterans Day weekend to the following weekend and caught the Christmas decorations, Christmas parade and Christmas fireworks. To me, Christmas is way more exciting than Halloween, but then again, any holiday in Disneyland would be awesome! :cool1:

So Christmas Decorations are put up in the middle of November?
We were in Disney World for Halloween decorations and it was great. I regretted not going to the "trick or treating" party, but it looked really hot in some of the costumes! I kind of wanted to see the Christmas decorations. Now it sounds like it would be better to go in OCtober (when his birthday is). We would miss Thanksgiving but for once I wouldn't have to cook!
