I am planning a trip, and had decided to go the week after Thanksgiving, but now I am considering Oct.

Which would be busier??? If I'm taking my kids out of school, I don't want it to be packed. :)

I know that Oct would cost more (Value vs. Reg), but would it be worth it??

MVMCP or MNSSHP???

Trip will be me, my mom (67), DS10, and DS4.

Thanks for your help!!!
Kari

Both! :teeth:

Seriously, we go these times every year and both have great things to offer. The Dec. week is usually pretty slow, but can sometimes get cold (this coming from a Floridian), but the decorations are awesome!
That being said, we love MNSSHP, we go every year in the beginning of the month and it is usually very quiet!

Either way, you will have a great time!!! :cool1:

We just visited this past December and the Christmas decorations were neat. The weather however was cool 45-68 degrees. There was one day it hit 75, and we went in the pool, but that was it. However the weather was great for walking the parks. October was great too and the weather was warmer. I'd have to say the crowds seemed to be a little less in December, other than the weekend. We have done both the Christmas and Halloween party and they are both fun. I guess I'd base my decision on what you want the weather to be, nice for the parks or warm for the pool! Good luck! :earsboy:

I absolutely love going in early December, but you really do need to be prepared for a variance of weather. The Christmas decorations are beautiful and the crowds are low.

This year will be our first October trip so I can't give an opinion on that time frame yet.

Have gone twice in October and loved it! The weather is still nice and warm, a real bonus. Plus, you have the food and wine festival (great food in the booths - I had fun even though I don't drink wine!) and the Halloween party, which was fabulous (didn't have to wait at all for any rides - walked right on - definitely worth the extra money, IMO). Crowds were fairly light.

Have not gone in December before, but personally, I'd rather go during warmer weather.

This thread caught my eye because Oct and Dec are my two favorite times to go to WDW.

I love both MNSSHP and MVMCP.

We have done MVMCP 4 times and we've done MNSSHP 3 times.

We love Oct for MNSSHP, low crowds and wonderful weather.

We love Dec for MVMCP, low crowds, Christmas atmosphere and activities.

We alternate each year and buy APs so for example, we did December last year and this year we'll do October on one AP.

My dream is to do both every year but that's not possible (although I did both last year because of low airfare and free dining plan!!) so alternating is what we do.

We were there Oct. 1st week and it was HOT (I'm from Tx and SC, I know what HOT is) and humid as all get out...it was also not that empty, it was fairly crowded...not sure I want to know what middle of July crowds are like after that. We are going to try the 1st week of Dec. this time. We'll be sharing the week w/ the Pop Warner kids, but hopefully won't be all that bad.

We were there in the 1st 2 weeks of Oct. last year. Hot was not the word for the heat + humidity! If you want to be able to swim, but not melt, I would shoot for the end of Oct.

We do the same thing as 'beattyfamily' and alternate between December and October. (Except, *gasp* we had to skip last year! - and miss the free dining plan, too! ugh!) Anyway, we love both October and December...

In October, we always include Halloween night, and have never had a problem with it being too crowded. MNSSHP is a blast, and The Food & Wine Fest is just icing on the cake for me! The warmer weather is nice, too...

In December, we usually go the first or second week, and have always had an excellent time - low crowds and beautiful Holiday decorations! MVMCP is awesome, you have to go at least once in your life! It does get colder so plan on long pants and jackets at night...

This year we're going all out and doing the last 2 weeks of December, including Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I'm nervous about the crowds, but know we'll have a wonderful time in WDW no matter what! - and so will you!!!

Mlill,

We went to WDW from 12/21-12/28 and it was WONDERFUL!!! The crowds weren't unmanagable at all. The weather was a little cool BUT we did leave a blizzard behind so who was going to complain about the weather being in the low 70's??? The Christmas Decorations were great and so was the Osborne Lights and the Candlelight Processional. You'll have a great time and the only time I'd say the parks were actually "shoulder-to -shoulder" was the day after Christmas..... BUT.... there were also EMH because of it and with the EMH's you could just walk right into a ride/attraction and get in.

We have been both months and done both parties. Depending on when you go (early, middle etc. of the month) that can drastically change the crowds. The only thing is hurricane season is in September and October and it rained everyday when we were there this past October and there was a major storm coming in. That is something to think about! December is nice and cool and the MVMCP is a blast! Good luck! :flower3:
