October or December???

Love WDW in December!! We went 2007 and 2009 and we had terrific weather even for swimming. We have our fingers crossed for this December because the weather can be unpredictable. Our dd's love all the Christmas decorations and festivities.

That being said we are looking forward to our trip in Oct 2012 as well!

This is a great thread for me because we have gone to October the last three trips - and LOVED it. Mostly the weather has been perfect, though we did have one freak cold snap in late October 2008. I agree that October is a fantastic time at WDW because of the weather, Food & Wine Festival, and Halloween parties at the Magic Kingdom.

We've always wanted to try WDW during Christmas season (late November or early December), but we're always afraid of the cold weather. (We live in Hawaii and have an incredibly small tolerance for the cold. ) So we then decide to return in October. But I have to admit that our trips are starting to feel a bit repetitive. It's probably time to do something else. We've talked seriously about taking our first trip "home" (as new DVC members) in December 2012.

Do you all think the weather would be a bit safer in mid-late November as opposed to the first two weeks in December? Any tips for someone who wants to experience Christmas at WDW but is scared of the cold weather?

We went the last week of November, and again...absolutely beautiful weather. From what I've read, the average temp in Nov is 79, versus 73 in Dec. Looks like it bottoms out in Jan at 72 and then back up to 74 in Feb. We've been really luck with the Nov/Dec trips we've taken. I have to admit, I would be disappointed (coming from Ohio) if I went down and it wasn't in the high 60s or 70s. Just a chance you take if you go that time of year. But...when you hit it right, it doesn't get much better!

DH and I only travel in October or December (except for one April and theis May). I would have to agree that October would be better for the little ones. The weather this past Dec was very cool/cold and as much as I love being in WDW it was miserable after about 8 p.m. In October 2009 we roasted at the MNSSHP on 10/29. But it was a more enjoyable trip weather wise. We have done early Oct and Late Oct and both are about the same.

This is an October year so we will be there 10/28-11/04.
