What is the weather typically like this time of year?

We are trying to determine a *when* for our trip next year. At first I was thinking December, I think seeing Disney all decorated for Christmas would be beautiful plus our older son's birthday is December 13 which as far as pricing and crowds seems like a perfect time to go for as far as December is concerned.
That said, while we don't want Florida summer heat we do want to swim (upper 70s/80s is fine for swimming for us Wisconsinites ;) ). We loved the crowd levels in February but really want to avoid some of the refurbishments for our next trip and March-September are off limits because of my husband's job. I'll note that if we went in November it would be early November (so I don't think Christmas decorations would be up yet). We wouldn't be able to do mid-late November.
I also would like to go at a time where rain is few and far between, I'm not sure if certain times of the year are better/worse for this in Florida. I'm worried about October and hurricanes? I really know very little about the weather in the south ;)

We went last november (14th-18th), and it was perfect. High 70's, low 80's. Slight chill at night. Kids still swam. It was awesome walking around not breaking a sweat, but still in tshirts and capris. Christmas decor was halfway up, christmas music was piped in in main areas of all parks. I was surprised that I didn't care for this...constant reminders that it was winter up in Chicago ;)

We went over Thanksgiving 2010 and all of us spent some time in the pool and dh and ds went to one of the water parks twice and loved it--their favorite thing at disney world actually.

We are going in late December this time and I have checked the average temperatures online and iirc highs are in the low seventies. But my understanding is it can be much colder or could be a bit warmer so we are still debating whether to add the water parks to our tickets this time.

I'd suggest checking on weather.com or the like for average temperatures and rainfall.

We've gone multiple times in December and the weather is unpredictable. There have been years of 70's and 80's, but one year 2 of our days were in the 30's. If you want to be sure of warmer weather, I'd go with October.

Thanks for the personal experiences! Still torn, so many good times to go! This won't be our last trip but we probably won't go again for 4-5 years after this one (and even then we were thinking we might do DisneyLand instead) so there's a little pressure ;)

I would also say November. We have been in December and had to wear jackets the entire time. October can at times be too hot. November is just right. Find a week with low crowds and enjoy your trip.
