October / MNSSHP 2007

Hi everyone.

I am going to DISNEY again in 2007 and I cant wait. We went last year in september and loved it. We wanted to go at the roughly the same time as we liked the heat etc but wanted to experience MNSSHP.

Has anyone been at this time of year? (first 2 weeks in october)

If so can you please try and help me with the following:

1) Is it still hot?
2) Are the water parks still open?
3) Is it really busy?
4) Do alot of people dress up for the MNSSHP?
5) Does the Epcot food festival cause many crowds? and what is that like?

I think thats all I want to know...for now anyhow!

1) Is it still hot? yes

2) Are the water parks still open? yes, one usually goes into rehab at the very end of October so you will be OK.

3) Is it really busy? Only been the end of October so can't help with this one

4) Do alot of people dress up for the MNSSHP? yes, but if you didn't want to you wouldn't be out of place

5) Does the Epcot food festival cause many crowds? and what is that like? I love the IFAWF It does get more crowded at the weekends because of the locals.

I was wondering about the heat at this time of year as well. DM and I will be there Oct. 1-5. How hot is hot? lol I may have to buy some new clothes....

1) Is it still hot? Yes in 2004 it was well up into the 80's
2) Are the water parks still open? Yes both are open until the end of October when one closes for rehab
3) Is it really busy? Not too busy but may be best to avoid the parks on Columbus day, second Monday in October
4) Do alot of people dress up for the MNSSHP? Yes there are all sorts
5) Does the Epcot food festival cause many crowds? and what is that like? Busy around the concerts for popular acts such as the Beach Boys, but generally ok

Ouch !! Sore point there for me - Beach Boys 2nd/3rd October, we arrive Orlando 14th

We always go in October - usually in the middle, and weather and crowd are not too bad for us. It's still pretty hot and even though it is quite busy we never have to wait too long for any rides, even popular ones.

Nope included in Epcot admission but the BB's are very very popular and if you want to sit in the area to watch then you need to queue quite a while in advance. I think we saw the second showing and were waiting while the first performance was still going, it lasts about 25 mins. If the queue goes past Germany apparently it is touch and go if you get a seat!

Don't forget Universals Halloween Horror Nights as well. really good and scary in parts, plus the chace to go on Jaws in the dark!

Thanks for that, can't wait till i tell DH, he will be impressed. ( something he does not have to shell out for ) Adding it to my itinery...don't mind waiting. I'll just visit a few food kiosks before hand and much away! in the queue.

Well the first 2 weeks in Oct is the time we always go now, have been May, June, July, September and November and October is the best.

1. It is a great temp, last year about 87c-92c everyday, no rain, little humidity compared to July
2. Water parks are still open
3.Very quiet, especially the 1st week, Universal and IOA were walk ons the whole day almost, WDW was a bit busier but didn't wait any more than 20mins for any attraction
4. I would say the majority of folk dress up for MNSSHP, a great night

5.Only been once to the Food and Wine Festival, it wasn't too busy and some of the stalls with the food looked really good, again a lot of the smaller rides were walk-ons, even Soarin and test track I never waited more than 20 mins
The middle weekend during the 1st 2 weeks is an american holiday (Columbus Day I think) I avoid the parks these days, usually good sales on at the shops though.
