Inside Scoop
Gain the edge
Now is the best time to take advantage of special savings for our new 50-year Membership at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort. While special offers are always subject to change, click here for current offers at the newest Disney Vacation Club Resort.

Fall for the Vacation Planner
Our new Vacation Planner will be arriving in mailboxes soon. Inside this streamlined companion to the Member Guidebook, you'll find new Vacation Points charts and Reservation Points charts, plus other useful tools to help you plan your next magical getaway. Your Member Guidebook remains a great resource to keep on hand though, as much of the resort information doesn't change from year to year. Happy planning!

Member Clubhouse now available online
As we continue to enhance the Member website, past issues of Member Clubhouse can now be accessed by visiting the Member News page at dvcmember.com. A direct link to the Member Clubhouse archives appears in the left-side navigation bar. Since an internal change will make some issues you've kept as a reference unavailable, we've made this enhancement to dvcmember.com so you can easily access previously published content. Remember though, the latest Member Clubhouse will arrive first via email, so be sure to register your email address and update it as necessary.

Developer News
Right on track
Construction is progressing at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, the newest Disney Vacation Club Resort. The final of the first four buildings was recently topped off, and interior work is well underway on buildings one and two. Exterior work continues on the first three buildings. Installation of the pool slide is also complete, and the rockwork for High Rock Spring Pool is now being constructed at the site.

While work continues on the new resort, another exciting announcement was recently made. The Disney Vacation Club Sales Center will be relocating from Disney's BoardWalk Resort to a brand new home at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa when the resort opens next May.

Centrally located near the High Rock Spring Pool area and The Spa, plans call for the two-story, 37,000-square-foot Sales Center to feature a "travel agency storyline that will complement and fit in thematically with the rest of the Resort," says Ted Watson, Disney Vacation Club Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

"The whole experience at the Sales Center is designed to place Guests into a relaxed mood, ready to discover the vacations of their dreams," Ted explains. "The new space offers us a wonderful opportunity to showcase the exciting possibilities that Disney Vacation Club offers to Members."

While interior plans for the Sales Center are still being finalized, Ted did share one sweet detail with Member Clubhouse. He says that once Guests have gotten the full 'scoop' on Membership, "They'll be taken to the Sales Center's old-fashioned ice cream parlor." A variety of classic frozen delights will be available, providing the perfect topper to their tour.

"The new Sales Center is all about conveying the fun and emotion of a family vacation and illustrating the role Disney Vacation Club can play in future vacations," says Ted. "We're excited about moving to our new home next year at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, and we look forward to welcoming both current and future Disney Vacation Club Members for a visit."

Around the Neighborhood
Pool hop block
Please remember that unless you're a registered Guest of Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts or Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, pool hopping is never allowed at Stormalong Bay and Uzima Pool. Quiet pools at those resorts are also off-limits, unless you are a registered resort Guest. There are no exceptions to this policy.

Due to the high occupancy that is expected, Members may not "pool hop" from November 24-30, 2003, and December 20, 2003 - January 3, 2004. On other dates, if you're pool hopping at another resort, you may be asked to leave in order to accommodate registered Guests staying at that resort. Please call ahead to the Front Desk of the destination resort to check pool availability, and visit dvcmember.com for updates.

Fun for boys and 'ghouls' of all ages
We're gearing up to celebrate Halloween throughout the neighborhood. On Friday, October 31, at Disney's BoardWalk Resort, the annual BoardWalk Halloween Celebration will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. Join your friends on the Village Green for trick-or-treating, goblin games, a costume caravan, Disney Character greetings, a live DJ, and more.

Near The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Tri-Circle D Ranch at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is hosting Haunted Hayrides again this year. Nightly journeys that retell the legend of Sleepy Hollow are offered starting at dusk and continuing until 10:00 pm, October 17-18, 24-25, and October 29 - November 1. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for children ages 3 to 9. Same-day tickets may be purchased at the hayride wagon.

Pack your costumes if you're headed to Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort. On Friday, October 31, Cast Members will be greeting kids who are trick-or-treating in several areas around the Resort. Then everyone's invited to Community Hall for some "hob-gobblin'."

Please remember that all activities are subject to change, so be sure to check with the Front Desk at your resort for event availability and additional details.

Viewer's choice
As part of our ongoing efforts to improve the Member reservation and check-in experience, we are pleased to introduce enhanced room categories for Disney's BoardWalk Villas. Effective immediately, Preferred View accommodations will be identified by one of the following new categories—Preferred: Boardwalk View and Preferred: Garden/Pool View.

Both categories require the same number of Vacation Points for reservation of accommodations. When booking, you'll be able to request the Preferred: Boardwalk View category and will know immediately if this is the room category you'll receive at check-in. If these accommodations are not available, you may request the Preferred: Garden/Pool View category.

Member Services has already converted some existing reservations to the enhanced room categories, based on Boardwalk View requests and the date reservations were confirmed. An updated confirmation will be sent to Members whose reservations have been confirmed for the Preferred: Boardwalk View category.

Keep in mind that inventory in the Preferred: Boardwalk View category is limited, so please make your vacation plans accordingly.

A not-so-shrimpy island buffet
Join us this fall at Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort for the Shrimp Boil Cookout (formerly the Broad Creek Oyster Roast). Enjoy an all-you-care-to-eat feast featuring boiled shrimp, roasted oysters, a tender meat offering, corn-on-the-cob, hush puppies, lemonade, and iced tea. All items are freshly prepared on site, with entertainment provided by the legendary B'Lou Crabbe. You can even make your own s'mores over the campfire—a Longview Island tradition! Check with the Front Desk to see if the Shrimp Boil Cookout will be offered during your stay.

We're in the same :boat: Bobbi!!! We're new members whose deed should have been recorded about 3 weeks ago and our member number still doesn't work. I'm thinking about just e-mail member services and probably will if I still can't get in by next week. I just feel like I'm missing something! :scratchin

The mail arrived before we got home from work day before yesterday, but the email didn't arrive until 8:30 yesterday! Go USPS, you rock:rotfl:

Very different stuff in the paper edition, including a great section on AK; I had to read most of it aloud to my 3 yr old.

"Your all welcome"...........don't feel bad ...........this is the 1st one I recieved from DVC in 5 months.:scratchin

I remember having problems signing up for the e-mail newsletter. After sending an e-mail to MS, I found out that it will take approximately 5 to 6 weeks before you 'show' in the e-mail system (don't know what that means :scratchin ) and are able to actually sign up for the newsletter.

Just keep trying after that and hopefully you will be on the list soon enough!
