October hours

You know these hours are just sitting on some jerk's desk somewhere.
"There's something I had to do today...oh, well, I can always get to it tomorrow. Lunch time!"

Why so impatient?

I sat waiting for August hours to be released back in June. I made all of our plans and reservations based on those hours. Then a couple weeks later, they all changed - park hours, EMH, parades, fireworks, everything. So I changed our plans accordingly. Then a couple weeks later, they all changed again. Then just about a week ago, they all changed again. Then just yesterday, they all changed again.

Do you see my point? Go and live your lives. Save yourself from Disney-induced frustrations. Don't obsess on waiting for hours that in the end could very well be meaningless.

I think it's just a major red flag that they can't get the hours up. It makes you start to think...

Is room capacity really low? Are they cutting hours across the board?
Is it booked at capacity? Do we have to extend hours on certain days or weeks?
Is MNSSHP messing with the PM EMH schedule?
If it's too busy or too light, are they messing with the EMH schedule as a whole?

Frankly, I can't see where these scenarios haven't been thought about yet. I think it's just not a high enough priority for them (WDW) to publish hours far enough in advance to assist people in planning their vacations.

I can see a day or two delay, but now, this is getting ridiculous and it is starting to get on my nerves.

What gives? What could possibly be making this long of a delay. And don't even get me started on hours in "a couple weeks". I am sorry; maybe the vast majority of visitors never check the hours before the arrive at their resort, but for those of us that do, do us the common courtesy of just putting your hours up there, EVEN IF CHANGES GET MADE LATER ON.

Pretty soon someone's going to have a coronary over this stuff being sat on...

Disney has been stringing you August people along for years. Its kind of an inside joke they have with us Oct/Nov people. But once they tell us our hours, they never change them. Its always been a relationship based on trust and understanding.

I would guess this gets decided by committee, and "Mike" is in Hong Kong.

Then, procedure requires that they have to wait for a certain day of week, moon phase and fresh donuts after the 1st day of the month for computer A to talk to computer B, cross-referencing with my vacation schedule on my PC all while making sure the coffee is fresh before the summer intern (only person not in Hong Kong) remembers to push the button and release the schedule.. Just a guess.

I spoke with my brother who knows this guy who was married to a girl, who lived next to a man, who had a son, whose girlfriends best friend knew a CM who said the hours would be out sometime before October!!!
This is on good authority mind you. :wizard:

Well, I am THANKFUL they're haven't been released. All the waiting this week, I was forced to do something else. I checked out my budget and went over it with a fine tooth comb. With the help of my TA, I'm switching from AP rate to a MYW package with the free dining. Not only am I saving a big ol wad of cash, but I won't have to activate my PAP voucher until my trip next June giving me an extra 8 months!

Wow - if the hours don't come out tomorrow, I bet I'll even start cleaning up my desk! :earseek:

Tell me about it! I've been DYING to see the hours. Every day like 10 times a day I look on the site. I' m trying to plan out my trip and I can't do it very well if the hours aren't posted! :bride:

That is just what I told the CM I talked to today who said the hour were sure to be out in "a week or two"! I told her there were a bunch of people who wouldn't be alive at that point to use them because they would have had heart attacks before that.

If the World is pressing people to make early dining decisions and ADRs, they need to give us the information we need to do so....

I had no idea they changed the hours so often! I am glad I went ahead and made my ADRs.

Count me in on looking; this is one night I'll be up to see. If we don't get them Friday, I doubt we'll see hours until next week.

Maybe, we will get lucky and get EMH times with park hours.

I can just see us all going to the Disney website at midnight tonight and trying to look for hours all at the same time and the website will be inaccessible.

My DH thought that was hysterical. He asked me as I read it to him over the phone if I had memorized it. I said, no, of course not, I am not obsessive.....

I am TRYING to be fair and rational about this. Zulaya had some very valid points. This is the first October of EMH. Last year was just "pilots" of the EMH evenings. With EMH evenings being absolute gridlock all summer and attendance being up maybe they just can't get their act together. Or maybe they just like to release hours on Fridays?

Which is frightening and inexcusable all at the same time. Food & Wine, MNSSHP and the Funai Golf thing are not new events so determining the impact shouldn't be rocket science.

The hours at Epcot don't change, and the hours at Animal Kingdom appear to be 9 AM-5 PM EVERY SINGLE DAY for months on end. The closing time at MGM varies by maybe an hour, between 7 PM-8 PM. Magic Kingdom is the wild card but you would think with the other 3 having virtually no variation that MK would be the one they all concentrate on! I think we all know the EMH schedule will be lagging behind the park hours, so RELEASE THE PARK HOURS, already!

My ADR's are finished, and I am getting to the point that I am so fed up with it that I might just leave them alone even if it means we miss Wishes one night. We'll still see fireworks at MNSSHP and Wishes on another night so it isn't THAT much of a problem.

Yeah, AK and Epcot will be exactly the same, regular hours wise. It never changes.

MGM...depends on how many Fantasmics they have on a given night, but sure a hour, here or there.

MK is always the wild card and jackskellingtonsgirl pointed out. You can't accurately predict which days Wishes and Spectro will be. You can't accurately predict what EMH will be like with MNSSHP thrown in. The crowds...shouldn't be a deciding factor into whether to release hours or not.

EMH is what I want to know, specifically to avoid MK PM EMH and to definitely hit MK AM EMH. I definitely hope that they don't pull a fast one like they did on my June trip and have double PM EMH and only an AM EMH here and there. The more AM EMH there is, the happier I am.

this has been the worst week ever at work!!!
I need the October hours to make everything better!!!!
help me!

I am in the same boat as a previous poster...only 3 days of my trip are in October the rest are in November! I have already made my ADR's based on what I "think" might be the EMH days and when I find out Novembers hours in September I will be lucky if I can even change them. This is crazy, if they expect us to plan our meals 90 days in advance they should give us the hours accordingly.

Makes sense doesn't it ? :confused3
