ok so my kids school have decided to join all the inset days together and make the october half term 2 week instead of 1 off

so now im thinking we can sneak a trip flight prices are very high i have seen so far but the usa free dining offer is still on so would like to try benefit from that offer if i can

also am i planning too late to be able to get mnssp tix ??

That's great, can't help you with the flights etc as we booked package with Thomas Cook back in January, but might be worth you checking with them. There's loads of MNSSHP tickets left, in fact I'm not planning on buying them till we get there so I can check the weather ....although I will be keeping an eye on the availability before we go just in case it looks like they are all selling out quickly. We last went back in 2006 and arrived at first Dis park on 21st Oct and bought tickets for 30th no problem, only 31st was sold out. Not sure if it will be busier this year. Happy planning :goodvibes

It will probably be busier. There are more people now in october than there used to be in 2006

The 2 or 3 last parties tend to be sold out. But they sell out rather late in the season

This year is also special since there won't be a party in November. So Halloween will be the very last party.
I think the last 3 parties will likely sell out, and the 31st might sell out sooner this year.

If you're going to parties up to the 24th october (included) you should not take much risk waiting until the last moment.
But if you have the money and want to secure a party, do it as soon as you can, that will be one less thing to think about.

I would get a quote from Dreams Unlimited travel for your accommodation then if a better offer for your family comes out they will get it applied for you. You can also do everything by email and the agents are great :thumbsup2 The other thing is the deposit is fully refundable up to 45 days out so you can book now and if you can't get flights you won't lose any money.

Regarding flights I think you will probably be best looking at indirect options to get a good price. Check Kayak, skyscanner and Orbitz to start with. Consider Tampa not just Orlando.

MNSSHP tickets are still available but will probably sell out for the nights later in October but you should be fine for a while yet.

fine with indirect but still best price i have found is £708 p.p !! no way can afford that x5 at such short notice

I have been getting daily alerts and yes the prices have gone up in the last week or so, but I think they will come down again try Liligo.com and get daily updates.

Last year I booked on 12th June for £2436, this was for 5 people 9,11,18 and two adults for Monday 21st October through travelup, the customer service was terrible but once i had the flight details I phoned Delta direct who were very helpful, sorted the meal requirements, told me how to book the seats etc, and all was good.

Must tell you though, when I phoned travel up they told me there were no flights at that price, however on their website the flights were there and thats what I paid. In fact everywhere I phoned they told me the prices were more than what was on their websites!!!

I looked everywhere for flights, Asda, net flights and Disney themselves were all similar prices. It does seem cheaper to fly on the Monday, which is what we are doing again this year. My children get two weeks half term and yes they do miss two days of school but not a problem at our school.

We didn't take the dining plan last year and when I added up what we spent on food it was cheaper than what the dining plan cost, we also ate at the restaurants we wanted to. The dining plan would have given us desserts but we would rather eat starters, one of the children would have had an adults plan, but he actually ate children's meals (so I new I would save here). We also ordered from garden grocer, so most mornings had breakfast in the room and had fruit, drinks and snacks to take with us to the parks. So may be worth comparing prices from disney Uk without the free dining

Make sure to check Aer Lingus directly, skyscanner.com too, and to get a quote for the accommodations from a Disney travel agent!
I also saw excellent deals for Disney hotels with flights through expedia (not the us one. .uk or .de. You do not get free dining then so it's worth comparing all of the prices.

For us, the quote from the travel agent was USD $1,960 for 7 nights at Pop!, basic tickets with the water parks add on, and free dining.

I haven't found anything even close to that even with the nice pin Disney sent me. I always get that price with no tickets much less free dining! So shop around. Quotes are free.

I saw flights for October for around £550 with Air Canada (1 stop but you clear US immigration before you leave Canada) from LHR...might be worth a look? Also saw some from MAN with US Airways for around £575...?

I made a mistake earlier. I meant to suggest ebookers instead of expedia!
They really have amazing deals if you are going just to Orlando and Disney. It actually comes down to the same cost as the combo we set up with the travel agent and flights we booked (once you factor in tickets and the fact that you would have to pay for food- the same). It was tempting as they had a great price for Riverside but in the end, we can not fly half way across the world and not get a stop over in NYC! We love it too much! :)

You should also look at momondo, they compare flights, had email today stating flights from £474, previous price was £437.
