October Golf Tourney-how will it affect park attendence?

I bet there is already a thread out there concerning this, but I can't find it.

About this October golf tournament, does any one know how many people will be at WDW to attend this? I am wondering if that is why the resorts seem to be booking at such a high rate..

Since the tourney is during the day, do you think that the parks may not be as crowded, maybe until after the tourney ends for the day? I know, there is no crystal ball for this, I am just wondering (hoping, praying) that this will be the case. I don't mind crowds at the hotel as much as standing in lines at the parks. I chose this time of year before I knew about the tournament, but that's ok. I may have missed MNSSHP, if I had known about it.

Any thoughts would be appreciated..

The golf tournament is an annual event at WDW and DH and I have been down there several times during the same time as the tournament. Honestly we have not noticed a big change in the parks as far as crowds.

October is becoming more and more popular at WDW - when DH and I originally went in 96 for our honeymoon, the hotel rates were considered off-season however the popularity of Oct has increased the hotel rates over the past few years.

We've also been at WDW the same time as the tournament and didn't notice any difference whatsoever. October is still our favorite time to go and we're going again this year. We'll be there for tournament time also.

The actual tornament is Oct 21 to 24. There are a couple practice rounds the days before.
