October Fireworks disappointment

Hi

Please can someone confirm that I have read the info on wdwinfo correct. I have checked out the opening times and firework times for last 2 weeks of October and noticed that I can only see the fireworks if we go to the MNSSHP and pay another 123 dollars.

The table showing times of parades and fireworks etc.. say that there are "NONE" against "wishes" and "spectro.." for almost everyday bar one and on that day the park closes at 6.00pm for the MNSSHP to start at 7.00pm.

Please tell me I am wrong and that Disney is not ripping us off.

My kids are not into Halloween so we didn't plan to go to the party.

Don't worry, welshlady. Disney has only just released October's hours - they don't have any parade or fireworks info on their own site yet. That will probably happen over the course of the next couple of weeks. Trouble is, Disney will most likely also <i>change</i> things half a dozen times between now and your trip.

... and don't forget you don't need to go into the park to see the fireworks

A friend has already advised me to go to the Grand Floridian terrace to watch. But really this isn't fair and it wouldn't be the same. I've paid the same entrance fee as others who get the fireworks at other times of the year.

If it's any consolation - we went Oct last year and saw Wishes twice

MNSSHP is not on every night, and the fireworks are on when the park opens later. Looking at the list from this site, they are on Wed 13 Oct, Sat 16 Oct (the date we are going to see it), Sun 17 Oct, and Sun 24 Oct.

I know there are not many dates to choose from, but you can still see it.

We went in October last year and saw wishes on three occasions that were not MNSSHP - Once they release the info for October you will see there will be other opportunities to watch them.

Thanks for all your replies. I am just keeping my fingers crossed that we can see the fireworks. I am getting the 10 day hopper so will have enough passess to go in just for the fireworks on which ever day they are.

Coppertop - the problem with October 24 is that the opening hours posted on WDWinfo say the park closes at 6.00pm even though the fireworks are on at 9.00pm so unless I go to MNSSHP we won't get to see them.

But UKDeb has posted that Disney haven't finished posting all the firework times. So my fingers are well and truly crossed.

This is what it was like in the last week of October last year for my trip.

Saturday 25th - 9am-10pm - parade 3pm, spectro 8pm & 10pm, wishes 9pm

Sunday 26th - 9am-6pm - parade 3pm (mnsshp)

Monday 27th - 9am-7pm - parade 3pm, wishes 7pm

Tuesday 28th - 9am-7.30pm - parade 3pm, spectro 6.30pm, wishes 7.30pm

Wednesday 29th - 9am-7pm - parade 3pm, wishes 7pm

Thursday 30th - 9am-6pm - parde 3pm (mnsshp)

Friday 31st - 9am-6pm - parade 3pm (mnsshp)



Some of the timings changed once we were there.

Apologies. When you look at the WDW website as opposed to the DIS timings, they are different. On the WDW website, there is a Wishes on at 7.30 on Wed 27 Oct and the park closes at 8.30. Wishes is not on on MNSSHP nights as they have a different firework display. I think it is a safer bet to look at the WDW site which should be the most accurate. The DIS times are based on last year's times.

I've just realised that the official WDW site has changed the way you access the parade and fireworks times - click on a date and it will bring up the information.

I'm not sure when you are going, but it seems that Wishes is scheduled for <i>every</i> non MNSSHP night.

MNSSHP - 1, 3, 8, 12, 14, 17, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 29, 31.
