October discounts

We are in Disney Oct 12-17 which is blacked out for the free dining. Can anyone tell me in the past, has a room discount been offered for this time?

How do you know the black oput dates for free dining? Is there a webpage showing the free dining dates?

Oct 3-17 is blacked out with the pin codes. It is almost guaranteed it will be that way for the public as well. I have read some rumors about room discounts though, so praying I can at least get that.

Thanks for the heads up. We will be arriving just after the black out dates so I got a little scared as I was hoping to get the free dining. We have already booked everything, to include the DDP, so I am hoping to get the discount/refund.

We are in the same boat ..stupid columbus day..(sarcasm) ..anyway we are there Oct 9- 18th this trip. I was also hoping for at least free QSDP but looks like even if they do offer it to the public we are out of luck, a room discount would be wonderful though! Keeping fingers and toes crossed.

First off, blackout dates are typically because Disney doesn't need discounts to fill the rooms, so if there's no free dining, there's not a high probibility for a GP room discount. There might be an AP room discount.
