October crowds revised....

Touring Plans took my arrival day of Sept 18th @ MK down to a level 1 ! I know that is a MNSHP date...but come on! When have u seen MK at a level 1 in the last 10 years without some kind of tropical storm coming? SMH

Something is weird here. We are going first week of December and our crowds were reduced to 2 on a lot of the days. Makes no sense, as all hotels except for a few are booked up solid. Very confusing. I never would expect 2's during the holiday season. We shall see.

I think they are holding rooms for Pop Warner. Those packages aren't even out yet.

Crowd calendars that predict the future may be somewhat useless or useful but checking the “how we did” actuals on Touring Plans it’s showing lower park attendance than what was predicted. This past Saturday at MK was a 3. I know TSL opening weekend and 4th of July were both packed but seems people may be holding off otherwise. That or 8 is what used to be a 10, 6 used to be an 8, etc.

If they lift the AP blackout for July like the did for June so help me :p

Same with my Jan dates MLK weekend and the week following. Some of my days went WAY down Sat went from 10 to 5 for MK. Not holding my breath.

How is Jersey Week looking?
Nov 5-9 (which I believe is Jersey week) got downgraded by about 1-2 each day. I’m cautiously optimistic! It’s the first Christmas parties of the season though so that could up crowds a bit with people who want to be the first to see the parties. Although we wanted to add Sat Nov 10 onto our stay at Contempo a couple months ago and they are booked solid. So not sure if the crowds will be less or if there’s something else going on with holding back rooms. It is Veterens Day weekends, end of Jersey week, and last weekend of F&W so I wasn’t entirely surprised...

This is information that people pay extra money to get or is this part of the free section?

I’m pretty sure the crowd calendars are free. I think I looked at it before I subscribed. If you want the personalized touring plans and the Lines app those are through the subscription.

So then its like a weather report then. If you had to pay to get that information then they would have everything to lose by lowering the levels and being wrong. Now if they had the level high and it was lower nobody would be upset but if you say its a 3 and its an 8 people are going to be mad. No one gets mad when it doesn't rain.

We are going the week of Columbus Day and each day went down about 2 levels. I would love for that to be true bc I was a bit concerned about crowds at that time. Guess we will just have to wait and see.

The crowd calendars are limited without subscription. For instance when I am logged out I can only see the next three days (July 10, 11, 12) as well as all of August and September but that’s it.

For all those asking to have someone check crowd levels for their dates - please keep in mind that crowd calendar information is something that subscribers pay for. It isn't really kosher for that information to be shared with those who haven't paid for it. If you want the information, a subscription to touring plans is very inexpensive

Edited to add: there are plenty of other crowd calendars that are free, as noted in other comments, and anyone is welcome to use them and promote them and disseminate their information. But information from a site that requires a paid subscription should be proprietary to those who have paid.

We are going that week too and I have also been getting more and more concerned watching the crowd predictions go up and up. I was happy to see them go down some this weekend, but now that I'm seeing that LOTS of people's numbers have gone down I'm just confused. As you say, I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

The blog post explained it. Apparently they got more data on school breaks around that time. Also speculation that people are holding off until SW:GE.

Our dates are 10/20 through 10/27 so I was happy to see it even if I don’t put any stock in crowd calendars myself. Prepare for the worst is my motto.

kylenne, what blog post? I've found the Disney Dish podcast another poster was talking about, but not sure what blog post you're referring to? I'd love to read it!

I agree to take it with a grain of salt, but TP did conclude that one day of my April trip turned out to be a "1"...it rained most of the morning and kept people away. And trust me, it was a glorious day.

I like it when they move their predictions down. I don't necessarily BELIEVE it, but since I go in with a good touring plan I don't mind either way. And, it's nice to be pleasantly surprised.

There are plenty of crowd calendars that are free.
