Has anyone here camped at FW in October for the "Mickey's Not So Scary
Halloween Party"? We would like to try this for October '08, and are planning on buying a camper next year for that trip. How far in advance should we try to book? What are the temperatures like? Do we need AC for the Camper?
I saw where campfires are not allowed on the sites. What types of cooking are allowed at the Sites? My wife and I love to use the Dutch Ovens, but will leave them at home if we can't use them.
The last two days of our Honeymoon were spent at WDW in October of 2002.
We saw all the kids in costume and thought they were so cute. We vowed that we would we do this with our child one day if so blessed. Our little girl will be Four next October, and we are excited to get the ball rolling.

October is our favorite time to go. Perfect weather, warm during the day but cool at night. Sometimes you could use air during the day, but most of the time it is not neccessary. I would book as soon as you know your dates. It can get busy especially over the weekends.

Campfires are allowed at sometimes of the year. It is all subject to the weather in Florida (dryness). You have to have a firepit that is enclosed if they are allowed when you are there. Personally, we just skip it and go to the campfire program if we want a fire. We are not at our campsite that much, too busy doing other things within the campground.

Have fun planning your trip. You will have a great time at the Fort!:cool1:

If you want to use your dutch ovens, you can. There is a grill at each campsite. You can start your coals in the grill, flip the grill top back, then set the dutch oven on top of the coals, and scoop a few coals on top of the dutch oven.

You may want to book soon, it's really hard to get campsites for that time! There are actually campers who spend months there (and some just weeks!) and you'll actually enjoy seeing the decorations that they do in some loops of the campground.

I wish they'd expand the campground to add more sites!
