October BWV - reservation shock

I canceled my extra studio reservations and wait lists for early/mid October since my sister has decided not to join us at WDW. That should make some people (maybe even some of you) happy. I decided to go ahead and try to get a standard studio for the Fri/Sat. nights between our weeknight stays instead of traveling to visit relatives as we often do. I was prepared to take whatever was available. With all of the discussion here lately about the F&WF and how difficult it had been to get the other studios I had canceled, I thought there was NO way a standard studio would be available. I was shocked when she said it was and I booked it. You just never know until you try.

I think you lucked out. Most of these rooms book out right away. You might have gotten someone like you who needed to cancel and got their room. Like hitting the lottery. It doesn't happen often, but sometimes it does.

Lora...you're right, you never know! I do think that the fact that you were looking for the higher point weekend nights helped your cause a bit. I really would have been shocked if that were a Sunday-Monday!!

It does seem like the weekend nights are the last to go. For example, there are standard view 1BRs available for the weekend of Dec 8th & 9th, though there are no 1BRs available for the weekday nights before or after those dates.
