Going to POFQ the first week of October and just wanted to know how crowded the world is at this time in comparison to the summer months.

It's tough to tell. Most will say that it is much less crowded, but I've been finding them somewhat similar. Early October is better than late October, and I do think the crowds are lighter. However, park hours are somewhat shorter, so take that into account. Above all, though, you have the excellent F&W festival at Epcot which is reason enough to go itself! :thumbsup2 Overall, it's one of my favorite times to go.

P.S. - Watch out for the lovebugs. :furious:

October is a beautiful time at Disney! Temps are in the low 80's and there is less rain. Crowds are lighter too. It's our favorite time of year to go. You will love Port Orleans. Enjoy your trip.

We are going then also, so was glad to read the responses. Love bugs? I could probably be very happy without that. :scared: F&W sounds great.

Hi rangerfan94:wave2: We will be at POFQ Sept 28-Oct 8. I have never been this time of year so I can't help you there but I will have LGMH's on my door. Hope to see you there.

PS-Love your ticker;)

Hey, we will ALSO be at POFQ the first week of October! I am also hoping for light crowds and beautiful weather!!!!

We are going in late October to celebrate my DS7 birthday. We hope to enjoy the MNSSH. We are staying at the ASMovies. This is my first trip to DW. What is the story with the LGMH? Should I get some?

We will be there end September into October.
The weather is great so is the F & W Fest.

:cool1:

We went over Halloween before and loved it. With the exception of going to MNSSHP on Halloween night the crowds were down and the temps PERFECT! Heading back Mid Oct this year! CAN'T WAIT!!!

Crowds usually good, watch out for the hurricanes they can bring the crowds.

We went one year the end of Oct. The days were nice but the nights were a bit cool. Too cool for me to go night swimming (I like it hot). It was also very croweded compared to when we've gone in end of April/May (right after easter break). We just went in May this year (with our 3 children) and my husband surprised me on Friday telling me he booked a weekend getaway for just the two of us in Oct to celebrate our 10 yr annivsary. I'm so excited. :cheer2:

Ill be going the second week of October and constantly wonder how the crowds will be. Ive heard as well as read on this web site that it shouldnt be too bad and crowds will be light. With that being said there is a ton of chatter on the DIS regarding October trips and that worries me alittle. Maybe everyone on the DIS typically plans their trips during early fall?:confused3

My family and I are going in Oct as well, 5th - 13th. We are from the west coast and in the past have gone the first week of December, no humidity. Does anyone know how the humidity is in October?

My family and I have gone to Disney in mid October...crowds are not so bad. In fact, all the FP machines were covered up.

This October just the wife and I will go to Florida (leaving 4 kids at home!)

We went last November over Thanksgiving...it was busy but nothing like Christmas 2003/New Years 2004!

If we had to pick a time to go, it would be between mid Oct to mid Nov.

Our first time in October too (10/24 -11/3)- short weather do you think?

We were there late October last year and it was definitely short weather during the day. At night the majority of us put jeans on because there was a bit of a chill in the air, but it was more of a brisk refreshing chill.

We are going in early November this year for 2 weeks and hopefully the weather will be similiar. :cool1:

oct 24- nov4 here...can't wait. i've been the first and second weeks of november and the end of september but never in october. I think september is too hot and november was very nice weather and crowd wise. i think you will do great. i would recommend trip insurance due to the hurricaine season.

We are also going in early October (7th-14th). :woohoo: We called to make our dinner reservations and had a very hard time getting anything that we wanted due to inavailability. I too am getting a little worried about the crowds.:scared:

All of our trips to the World have been in October until this year when we added a trip in May. October is our favorite time to go with everything going on. :thumbsup2

We did find it was busier in October than it was in May, however, the crowds were still managable and the weather was usually cooperative. One word of caution - if you decide to go to the F&W festival, go during the week as weekends tend to bring out the locals and it can get very crowded. We found weekends to be busier for MNSSHP as well, and actually the day we went, the park was much busier during the party than it was during the day.
